Just bought because I'm also a big king tubby fan. Two minutes playing and I'm sold, beautiful work.

One thing I did notice tho was some weirdness with the cv modulation particularly on the hpf. The sound just disappears after the lfo reaches about 2/3rds of its maximum value, even with the CV trim turned down quite low - but if the cv trim is below around 35-40 there's almost no discernible effect. I dunno. That's on a cursory first listen, clearly.

Anyway I tried putting the suggestion in this thread of using it on the breakouts on the Echo, and fuck me! It sounded massive.

Thanks for the feedback! I will look into the cv-input range problem today - if Iโ€™ve calculated it wrong there will be a free update as soon as possible :)

Follow up!

Indeed - the CV input range was too wide! I've now corrected the values so that when HP filter is set to 70Hz feeding it maximum CV input equals setting the cut off to 7.5k - and the opposite, when set to 7.5k and feeding it maximum negativ CV input the cut off will equal 70 Hz.

If cut off is set to "Off" (cutoff at 20Hz) maximum CV input will still open the filter but not all the way to 7.5k

:exclamation: Important: If you set the cut off above 70Hz the CV input will push the cut off higher then 7.5k, if you have it set to 250Hz full CV input will push it all the way to 20k and then its not audible anymore. So for full range unipolar CV input, set the cut off to 70Hz, for bipolar, set it to 500Hz/1K (the middle is in between those) and trim CV to 50% (or to taste).

This was also the case in LP Filter and HPLP, so I've corrected the ranges there match the cut off knob on those too.

Version 1.0.1 of all three is uploading to Reason Studios now, hopefully they will be tested and available for download very soon!

Thanks for noticing this error and reporting!

HPLP1224 got an update!
Fixed some minor graphics (screws being low resolution on front) and updated the backside with 2 new features:
Selectable filter models; original, clean and dirty
Peak offset; reduce or increase overall resonance

Free and available now!

Not sure if I will implement these updates on the single hp & single lp, maybe at a later date:)

Thanks for the update. Iโ€™ve been meaning to pick up one of these, and if the twin filter is the only with tires I guess thatโ€™s my decision made! Btw any reason why itโ€™s only that one? I guess itโ€™s probably the most popular of the 3 devices..?

A shame. Hope that this will come to the single ones as well

Prefer to use the single ones as in the chain it is then clear what is the purpose (a lp or a hp)

Cheers

Ahh, I thought like Steedus that people mostly used the double, I got a few comments asking for the purpose of making single when both are in the double, so was assuming. But I too tend to use the single one!
One thought was to increase the functionality just for the bigger one and keep the single simple, I'll most probably continue using the original mode because it's what I like the most. But yes I'll probably implement it in the singles too then, rather sooner than later :)

I have a question. Unsure whether this is a bug or something. So I installed the trial of all three filters (Lp. Hp, and combined).

I added HP102 to my Drums and instantly fell in love with it. Especially driving the input gives me a nice sound.

So I added HPLP1224 to see if my workflow and sound shaping extended but I immediately noticed something was off with the sound.

For the purpose of this test do as follows.

1. Load Redrum. Load some 909 (oh yes) kicks. Load 909 hats. Now load HP 1012, set Peak to MID and set frequency to 70.
2. Drive Input to 80%. Leave the Output knob as is (0,0) and press play. Yeah.

Now clone this device and channel. Bypass or delete HP 1012.

1. Add HPLP 1224 and try to clone settings from the first HP102 instance. Meaning Input to 80%, Peak set to MID, HP frequency set to 70. Obviously, leave LP to off.

Press play (ensure that the first instance of Redrum is muted) - sound is not the same. The sound is quieter. I quickly measured that the sound was around 2 dB less loud when compared to the settings on HP 102. Switching filters on the backside doesn't have an effect on getting the same sound. Adding a gain plugin and trying to match loudness - when the loudness is matched sound is still not the same. The difference is subtle but not the same. Highs are different. I prefer HP 1012.

1. Shouldn't the sound behave the same if you clone settings from HP1012 into 1224? I was under the impression that 1224 is the same thing just combined. It seems not.
2. I love HP 1012 - can one clone the sound of it into 1224?

edit: yeah there's a difference after all. Green is HP 1012. Blue is the same settings on 1224.

Since 1224 has two filters and the "off" state is not really a bypass but rather a low/high frequency it's letting most of the signal pass unaffected but still colors it slightly. There are also some waveshaping going on "behind the scene" and it could be some different gain staging in the single vs the double, I don't remember exactly in detail now.
So a slight difference isn't to be worried about. After all they're not designed to be exact precision filters, it's all about vibe.

Ok, I'll purchase HP and LP when my trial is over. They work for me better than the "big" one. And the sound is amazing. Regards

To the dev - you really know how to make lovely, inviting GUI's that really reward the user with excellent ergonomics as well as looking so sheek.

I am going to demo this one now and see if perhaps the 70hz low cut with resonant bump might give me a quick to use one click plugin when I want that effect, but of course will try all the features properly also :)

Congrats on the release.
