Reason's new video has a blurred-out instrument device at 1:40. It's between Complex-1 and Layers so it most likely starts with the letter D E F G H I J or K. I wonder what it could be.

Friktion eh. I'm gonna speculate that it's a physical modeling synth, just based off that name and that there isn't a synth like that in the Props lineup.

Interesting, fair bit of knobs, no large envelope visualizer a la grain / europa, possibly vertical wave viz in upper right? Name Friktion, makes me think of some NI Massive bright sounding screechey patch. Physical Modeling? Fair play.

Good spot. Cleary not released yet.

Can someone increase the size a bit and sharpen the image? It would help to better speculate...

The upper right of the device looks to be a saz or mandolin.

Reminds me of the time someone (think it was sweetwater) released details of a new version of reason a few days before the release date, I believe the props were not happy.

I'm not sure I follow, what makes you think a new device shows they are in trouble?

On this forum, one of our most cherished tenets is that any release from RS which isn't Combinator 2 or... *checks notes* ..."lazy chopping", can only mean the imminent demise of the company.

A few things remind to a typical synth, but the most left part and that display is weird... In the f display could fit a instrument type, the left side is some kind of main basic selection... No mod matrix...

The logo have a "squiggly" font, it seems. I guess that make sense if it tries to emulate organic sounds yeah? I hope it can go beyond the "obvious", so to speak. Lots of interesting sound-designing to be had, if so!
