$120 CAD for this? I downloaded the demo and and the ReFill, which is a hodge podge of patches and they don't sound very good. As I have Arturia's DX7, Dexed, with more presets than I'll ever use, I don't see the use of this RE. I fiddled with the knobs and sliders and it's just a hassle to deal with. Maybe I'm missing something but honestly, maybe if it was $12 I'd bite but 10x that much? Pass.

Here in Europe the price is 99 euros, which currently converts to 145 CAD
I bought PX7 for 50 euros on sale just before they pulled it from the shop. That is about the right price for this kind of instrument tmo. On sale, it should be around 25 euros. Similar to the pricing of the Korg REs, which seems fair to me.

Just found this one last night (I used to be on-top of things shop-wise a couple of years ago but not much now, eh)
«Working with Reason, ReBirth and ReCycle at Propellerhead Software»

«Software developer at Propellerhead Software, INTP.»
And the GUI and UX of the PX1 vs PX7 should give enough hints.
I do find the PX1 GUI choices a detriment to the UI readability achieved with the PX7 GUI.
Some control size, spacing and color palete tweaks could improve it, IMHO.
I suspect the PX1 is mainly targeting those that never got the chance to own the PX7 while certainly winking at some PX7 owners for the "DX1-like 2-in-1" convenience, so...
I'm wondering if this new(?) sysex2repatch is able to translate the DX1 and DX5 factory Performance banks directly into PX1 repatches, because that's basically the only clear advantage of getting a PX1 for those already owning a PX7, IMHO.

PX7 was made by a third party and licensed to Reason Studios. This is an RE that is being sold in the shop by an external dev. There is nothing (so far) indicating they have anything to do with each other.MarkTarlton wrote: ↑30 Mar 2023I wonder what changed that allowed them to sell a new RE considering the PX7 was apparently taken down due to a licensing issue?
Remember that RS never made the developer of PX7 known.
