Follow up to my post on Way Beyond Fairlight…are there any refills that you would recommend for synthwave/new retro wave projects?
(FYI I use PolySix, ReDominator and Aurora synth REs.)
Good Refills for synthwave music

You might like our Extension ReFill - Polysix, try the demo ReFill from our website, and the SC demo.

I also highly suggest to take the PX7 RE for this purpose if you don't have it already.
And the Blamsoft Zero is also damn good for 80s style sounds.

Kings of Kong is essential for 80s drum sounds. All about that 707 hype!

Try Bitley's Way Beyond Fairlight ReFill and have a look at the ReFills coming from Soundcells. There you'll probably find what you're looking for.
BTW: Synthwave is fantastic, isn't it? I mean guys like Betamaxx, Mitch Murder, Com Truise, Teslaboy, etc. make really nice instrumentals in terms of musicality and sound. I really enjoy that genre.

Synthwave always brings a smile to my face and would love to explore it a bit myself, but the production techniques feel a little like black magic to me. Certainly using the samples and synths of the day helps immensely, but somehow the "vibe" feels elusive. I probably need to spend some time really rethinking my approach on compression and reverb.
Music is nothing else but wild sounds civilized into time and tune.

I just got WBF and it's amazing! And yeah, I'm a huge synthwave fan. Mitch Murder and Makeup & Vanity Set are probably my favorites (for very different reasons), but I love all the artists you mentioned too.marcuswitt wrote:Try Bitley's Way Beyond Fairlight ReFill and have a look at the ReFills coming from Soundcells. I'm checking the demo out right now...thanks! At first glance, I'm psyched that you're making good use of the audiomatic retro transformer--that's a great RE.MoonEchoAudio wrote:What the best synthwave Refill? Check out Hazewave!

Just beware that it uses a ton of Audiomatic instances at times and that can bog down your dsp if you're not careful.The_G wrote:I'm checking the demo out right now...thanks! Sounds great though.
D.
I'm curious--which of the patches on the demo are from the Hazewave refill?

Not refills, and not cheap, but excellent quality:
