Hello everybody! :)

I want to ask for your opinion.
I have been working on this song for quiet some time now, using only the Diva Vst.
Besides the mixing of the song, I think its structure, etc. is okay now.
But I am not 100% sure, so what do you guys think?

And do you think "Ambient/Instrumental Music" is the right genre?

Let me know what ya think!?

Thanks!
Chris

"Ambient" is a tricky word. To me, it means — or should mean, anyway — that story is not a goal of the piece, and this piece does have story. But as a practical matter people also use it to mean "oceanic" and "beatless" and "pretty" and "ethereal" and all kinds of other words which one could arguably apply to this. Ultimately, you must pick some words. I would say use whatever words you think will attract appreciative listeners — without crossing too far into spam territory.

Thank you very much for listening, and thank you ver much for your kind words! :)

"Oceanic" sounds interesting.
Coz most of the time when I am making music, I am thinking about a walking on a walkway above the ocean.
The walkway stands for bass-/kickdrum and bass, the Pad sounds (with sidechain compression) stand for the ocean and its waves.
The song and its melody stand for what I see on the horizon.

Thank you again for your advice!

I guess I have to take a deep dive into the music genre.

I enjoyed this a lot. Nice Harmonies and Sounds. Reminded me a lot on the classic Bladerunner (1982) Soundtrack (wich is a good thing).

Thank you! :)
Like I said, I am fine with its structure, but it sounds a little flat so far.
Mixing is still my weak spot. :D

And by the way, "Blade Runner" is a beast of a soundtrack. Have the Super Deluxe Edition.

I like this, nice chord progression and the transitions are well planned. Sounds a bit cinematic (like someone mentioned, it has a story).
Genre wise I would call it "New Age", not ambient. :-)
