If continually charging for software wasn't a better business model for Reason Studios compared to a "one-time charge and you get everything for free forever" business model, why do you think Propellerhead (now Reason Studios) ever adopted such a business model to begin with?

Also, to clarify how Image-Line works their "free updates for life" policy, new software synthesizers and effects are often a separate purchase and there are usually optional add-on purchases.
