Anyone know what's going on with Pump RE/Sonic Bits?

Seems they've vanished from the shop - shame because I really liked that plugin! One of my most used. I know I'll be able to use it still, but just curious as to if anyone knows the deal!
I believe it was removed from the shop a while back.
For a similar effect, I use kHs Trance Gate:

Another alternative is Sidechain ReAction:

Interesting that that was the only non-Reason device that they used in the YT Mimic demo yesterday and they said how great it was (that's why I looked it up!)joeyluck wrote: ↑19 Aug 2021I believe it was removed from the shop a while back.

Sweeper also works. Use a negative modulation amount on Volume. Sync it to the beat or trigger it as needed.

It brings up an interesting point about REs that are no longer available. I have Pump and it is available in my account forever, or at least while the RS servers exist, but the product page has gone and that means that any links to information and the user manual have also gone. Maybe this information needs to be made available to those who own the RE. Or maybe it already is available and I just haven't found it.
I guess it also brings a problem with people sharing projects. If I send someone a project that they don't own an RE for the standard thing is to be taken to the shop to buy it but that is not possible if the RE has been withdrawn. To put a more current stamp on this scenario, RS can only usefully share the demo project that they showed in the livestream with a subset of users - those who own Pump.

oh...I need to try this!huggermugger wrote: ↑19 Aug 2021Sweeper also works. Use a negative modulation amount on Volume. Sync it to the beat or trigger it as needed.
r11s
Well just like PX7 Pump has been around for years and if you was going to get it you probably should have by now however it does show that the guys are always good for a giggle (live streaming with a product you can no longer buy )DaveyG wrote: ↑19 Aug 2021It brings up an interesting point about REs that are no longer available. A number of them mentioned here just work without extra routing or sidechaining.

Just tried the 3 methods (sweeper, synchronous). Pump still delivers the best sound, most flexible, hassle free results of all of these.
I wish I could give someone mine—thought it might come in handy, but the handful of times I tried using it, it didn’t end up improving anything for the track, so I removed it. still don’t think I’ve ever actually used it on a song.
This is what I do and it works very well!huggermugger wrote: ↑19 Aug 2021Sweeper also works. Use a negative modulation amount on Volume. Sync it to the beat or trigger it as needed.
Wouldn't have thought that you would have much use for any EDM style pumping effect
I do a lot of guitar sound design, and thought I might find it useful on a wash of effects to add some additional movement in some cases when I’m creating some sort of weird guitar pad sound. it works well enough, but every time I’ve done it, it hasn’t turned out to actually be necessary. nothing wrong with the device itself of course—just hasn’t scratched the itch I though I had.

Guit, it is an excellent mixing tool. I use it on every track I make, and 99% of the time nobody would notice it is there cause I seldom do the pumping effect. ♂️
Can be triggered by CV so you don't even have to use it on 4/4 stuff

yeah, I bet it’s pretty useful for subtle ducking—I try to stay pretty old school with mixing unless I absolutely have to, so I don’t use ducking very often, unless it’s in a multiband compressor to tame some weirdness.PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑19 Aug 2021Guit, it is an excellent mixing tool. btw, I haven’t forgotten—just been super busy with work and the music stuff I’m working on right now is on a timeline, so I haven’t had a chance to listen to the latest and greatest.
kHs Trance Gate does the trick for me.PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑19 Aug 2021Just tried the 3 methods (sweeper, synchronous). Pump still delivers the best sound, most flexible, hassle free results of all of these.
