I marvel at how much some of the old junk I have got rid of in the past is fetching now. I don’t regret any of it because I can remember why I didn’t want it. I do remember being able to pick up second hand stuff for really cheap though and I miss that.MrFigg wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022Good to reflect. Unproductive to regret.crimsonwarlock wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022

I honestly don't remember why I got rid of the Teisco. I do know now that whatever the reason, it was a stupid one
To get back to the topic at hand, I wouldn't skip on a Teisco 110F emulation as an RE

OPS7 is the best DX7 clone on the market and it didn’t make it. I don’t think RS will release a new FM synth or even a « clone » of any vintage or old synth. In fact, PX7 was the exception in Reason, and oh it was a partnership that ended 2 years ago). RS seems to prefer taking pieces of old gear and build new instruments. Thor and Complex-1 are examples of that (and for FX I’ve read here and elsewhere that a lot of them are based on real hardware).crimsonwarlock wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022Back in the day, the critique was that the DX7 didn't sound 'as fat' as a Juno6 (or Jupiter 8 or whatever), mainly because it lacked a built-in chorus. The reality is that a DX7 sounds way better than a Juno6 when you compare them with the Juno's chorus switched off. When you put a good chorus on a DX7, it smokes just about every other big flagship synth from that era. I sold my DX7 long ago, but I still have the Boss chorus pedal lying around, that I always paired it with. And it being hard to program is a myth, it is the result of the large number of parameters the DX7 has, which makes it so powerful. Bottom-line, a DX7 can do every sound that an analog synth can do, but not the other way around.
The only reason I suggested this, is because a real DX7 emulation is one of the very few things that is currently missing in Reason, for those that don't have PX7. I do have PX7 myself, and two of those in a combinator is effectively a DX1, so I'm good
I’ve no idea about the kind of synth RS are going to release but I hope it’ll be in « reason spirit » such as those 2 synths because having a « modern UI » rack synth inside of a rack is just a no for me because VSTs are far better in this register.

I totally agree that Reason Studio has never been into straight emulations, and PX7 being the only exception to that. I was just joining the wild speculation here for fun. Although I still stand by the fact that there is currently no synth available in Reason that can actually do DX7 sounds (because of the lack of 8-part envelopes and, more importantly, the per-operator keyboard scaling curves). But in reality, I don't see RS going that way indeedSebAudio wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022OPS7 is the best DX7 clone on the market and it didn’t make it. But pointing at VST alternatives doesn't cut it either. Many Reason users want to use Reason's native instruments and Rack Extensions exclusively (I'm one of those).
However, I'm basically GAS-free, so I actually hope they come out with something I don't need... but I'm afraid that will also fail

Polyphonic Complex-2 with dozens of new synthesis modules + FX modules would be AWESOME.
or...
New distortion + filtering device with various distortion and filter types would be AWESOME
(not just classic filter types such as LP, BP, HP, but also more specialized types like various Notch or Band reject modes with variable bandwith, Spectral filters, Phaser like and Formant filter, etc.)...and integrated expandable mod matrix / modulation area with internal modulators.

Ok so i think we need drum synths.
Specialised synths for kicks, snares and hats.
Not another drum machine like redrum or Kong though.
Just synths.
I personally love seperate tracks in RRP for drums.(better in the mixing stage, even if i create a redrum or Kong, i almost always end up routing individual drum sounds to seperate mix channels anyway, so why no just have seperate synths for drum tracks)
So specialised synths for kicks snares and hi hats would be a nice addition.

Ookaay I see the hint in their new video that said mind blowing synthesizer in early 2023
So, maby Complex-2?
So, maby Complex-2?
Complex 2² like my new alltime fav Ivoks 4, but by the way the EWOK clan will destroys this white clone army. So 1=0 for red sock sound, some part of the empire fails.
Otherwise "Empire of the Sun" knows who rules the world , but with this empires and clones it is like with KI generated art, its needles to give them to many attention, or you would be part of it with time. Maybe it´s time for Extremist Piano, if radicalinskiness is to weak in this era.
COMPLEX 2² with a hidden resonance timetravel technology build in
so please RS give us the opportuinity that music can save the world yesterday

A synth and or sampler or multi layered Kong using samples and layered devices via a bussed mixer channel inserted into a mixer group.
Seriously adding anything drum related is completely missing the point of the current content, there is nothing missing from the drum category in Reason standalone that educational content wouldn't cover - adding yet another device would be for idiots who are still after the latest gimmick and willing to pay over the odds for something that sounds kinda like what they want.
Well then perhaps reason has it all covered.Billy+ wrote: ↑18 Dec 2022We've got this already?visheshl wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022Ok so i think we need drum synths.

It has all sorts of synths, samplers, fx, midi devices etc etc, hi rez graphics, now vst3 etc...
Props should probably shut shop then and hang up their boots and tell everyone that since reason already has everything, that they won't be updating anything anymore

But seriously the biggest disappointment I've experienced in Reason for the last few years is that their current lack of vision passed revenue.
Propellerheads had vision they created products that made digital (desktop computers) musical devices something that was limited to major studios "cmi" yeah we had some trackers and digital equipment but seriously nothing came close to props and although maybe further in support of vst than Reason standalone nothing offered what Reason 1 did.
Nothing was better than Reason standalone for the money but now I would suggest that people looking to start out looking for innovation looked elsewhere
If it's industry standards you're looking for again I would suggest you look elsewhere
In fact currently if you're looking for a daw I seriously would suggest that you look elsewhere
Don't get me wrong Reason is awesome it's devices are awesome but it's standalone daw is so lacking in comparison to even free alternatives and it's development direction has headed out into the wrong direction for me to recommend it to anyone.
I share your disinterest, but you realize this applies pretty much everything right?Billy+ wrote: ↑18 Dec 2022

That's why I would prefer that the actual standalone daw started to receive some love because seriously I might have upgraded from 11 to 12 if it had and for what it's worth I only upgraded from 10 to 11 because it was cheaper than buying the few rack extensions that I didn't already own.
Oh and just in case someone says CMBv2 my response is meh it's a dit like zip v2 ! Would you spend £200 on new compression software or would you look for something from GitHub
Can't say there's no love at all for the DAW. Being able to actually see the devices now is a nice add....Billy+ wrote: ↑18 Dec 2022Unfortunately I do
