This just in! Reason 12.2.9 Release Notes Rewrite of how Reason handles multicore audio Reason now adapts better to your document Reason now runs better on M1 under Rosetta, defaulting to high-performance cores New preference options for setting the max number of threads Reason’s allowed to use Mayb...

Re: I see that native M1 support has been pushed out to some time in 2022
That horror story you told sounded pretty much like you had none. Otherwise it would not have been a big deal to simply restore the system. Ah, that. I make daily backups of all my data, but I don't have a full image backup, as the drives in my system are pretty big (that Acer Predator came with so...

Re: I see that native M1 support has been pushed out to some time in 2022
If you're feeling lucky, try I installing Windows XP prior to service pack 1 on a new machine and connect it to the internet. Just wait a few minutes. Nowadays you'll find your OS and browsers are updated regularly and usually automatically by default so that all known exploits are patched as soon ...

Re: I see that native M1 support has been pushed out to some time in 2022
Yep. That's why I said my browser is optimized for safety. That includes having JavaScript disabled by default :puf_wink: OK, but in retrospect it seems likely any response you made here would support my point. You know what you are talking about. Most people do not. And you obviously have an inter...

Re: I see that native M1 support has been pushed out to some time in 2022
Operating Systems have more active processes, which gives them much more opportunity to schedule audio processes early or late with a scheduler geared towards "typical"/prioritised application needs. OSX, however (IIRC) has much more stable and predictable high-resolution timers. This page might al...

Re: I see that native M1 support has been pushed out to some time in 2022
Nice to find another Reason user who has discovered LUNA and apollo interfaces! Just amazing. Yeah, if RS can get a native Apple silicon version of Reason released, and resolves the load performance issues, that will be a perfect system for me. I love the Reason VI and F/X, and really everything. I...

Re: I see that native M1 support has been pushed out to some time in 2022
But due to your day job you probably knew which manufacturers/integrators would be more and less likely to provide a good Windows system. That's a non-trivial expertise which many people don't have. (Right now, I sure don't! 😀) Nah. I just bought a standard system (albeit top of the line) from a ma...

Re: I see that native M1 support has been pushed out to some time in 2022
But more importantly you have to be a person who knows how to assess which integrator or manufacturer can do that. Or you need hobbyist-level interest in computers and troubleshooting and problem-solving. I'm knee-deep in IT-management daily, and my studio computer is the one I don't have to do any...

Re: I see that native M1 support has been pushed out to some time in 2022
It's entirely possible to have a reasonably stable/reliable Windows system. It's merely more of a crapshoot. You have to choose an integrator (or manufacturer) who isn't participating in a race to the bottom (crappy components and/or drivers written by the low bidder) and doesn't pre-load the syste...

Re: I see that native M1 support has been pushed out to some time in 2022
Doesn't everyone experience this with Reason? Nope. Reason 12 (and 11 before that) is running very stable without any problems on both my studio rig and my portable setup, both Windows 10. The studio runs a five-year-old machine which was top of the line when I bought it new, and admittedly still p...

Re: I see that native M1 support has been pushed out to some time in 2022
I concur with the Mac experience. I have a MacBook Pro M1 Pro and it works really well with Reason. I would still want M1 optimization, but so far I have been working fine at a 512, sometimes 256 buffer since getting the Mac. I've never bought a Mac before for myself, and I felt like such a traitor...

Re: I see that native M1 support has been pushed out to some time in 2022
If only you'd done that in the beginning you would have found a more stable Reason! In my experiences, over a decade since moving from Windows and ASIO, Core Audio has always proved more robust and resilient when dealing with demanding songs. Here's hoping Reason Studios don't disappoint and can de...

Re: I see that native M1 support has been pushed out to some time in 2022
I was looking at a Mac Studio and going for the Ultra with 128GB RAM, but now I'm seeing that Reason won't work properly on such a rig. Wow, I thought my M1 Studio Max with 32GB RAM was overkill for reason. I’m on the edge with my 2014 i7 8GB RAM iMac on some songs but it churns through most songs ...

Re: I see that native M1 support has been pushed out to some time in 2022
Very happy to have found this tread, I have read EVERY post. I have a lot to contribute about these topics at this time, so here goes (sorry it's so long, but I think it's worth it to you): I have been a LOYAL Reason user since version 4.0, which is what got me back into music again. I have FAITHFUL...

Re: I've started to use "Control Room Out"
Hello all, So... I believe there was a time (earlier version of Reason, and I WAS almost certain of this), when you could just move the cables from Master Out, over to Ctrl Room Out, and then turning the Ctrl Room Out knob changed what your heard (was monitoring) but remained "focused" on the Master...

Re: Selecting multiple faders and turning them up/down at the same time?
Ok, I just figured it out, very easy (again, I'm on the Windows version). Click on one fader at the end of the mixer. Hold down the shift key and then click on the fader at the other end of the mixer. They all highlight aqua. You can let go of the shift key, and selecting any fader allows you to adj...

Re: Selecting multiple faders and turning them up/down at the same time?
So I just upgraded to Reason Suite 11, (11.0d475, build 10,520), and I'm using it on Windows 10. A few times now, I have held the Shift key down, clicked on a single fader in the mixer, and they all highlighted with the aqua color. Keeping shift pressed, I am able to adjust all faders at once up and...
