Re: (Trance) SOUND AMULET
I really like the unexpected chord change on the intro, going to the Dm and C major (which I like because the song is actually in C minor, really catches my ear there every time!). Like your other track you build a great intro and then transition into something quite difference (but totally related)...

Re: (DnB) Progress
Sounds great, love the transition from the intro to the main section.
May as well slap a limiter on it and get it on up to 0dBFS even for WIP postings!
(it's peaking around -3dBFS now)

Re: Recording multiple main mixer level automation tracks at one go?
If you want to record fader moves on multiple channels in one go, arm all of them for automation recording (and NOT audio recording), hit record, move any/all faders! We're getting into 2024/R13, and we still don't have a arm all button on the sequencer. :/ And we still have to put the main transpo...

Re: DIY rockwool acoustic panels
Sheets are typically the opposite of acoustic transparent materials, with higher thread counts that will block much of the sound from coming into the trap. They reflect many of the very frequencies you’re trying to absorb with all that rockwool. You need to wrap the rockwool to be sure, you just do...

Re: Logic Pro for$200 or should I upgrade to Reason 13?
Always try demos. 90% of DAW differences are preference. Amen to that! Like just about everything else, if there really was one DAW that was objectively better than the rest them most/all of us would have already figured that out and we'd all be using that DAW. It's horses for courses for sure, it ...

Re: Logic Pro for$200 or should I upgrade to Reason 13?
I own logic.. for me it seems illogical in some aspects> but I have used it when needed. I often spend too much time looking for the proper menu to do certain tasks. That is likely just me. I need to spend more time with it. I have live 10 suit as well, but still tend to use reason as my primary da...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
June 18, three weeks away untill R13 gets released. I can't feel the hype, tbh. Remember the announcement of Ableton Live 12? Each days tons of new YT-videos exploring and explaining the new features of the beta release so far. I wonder why the R13 beta testers are not allowed to communicate what t...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
It's interesting seeing responses to any Reason release when it comes to devices. I've been browsing outside of here as well... There's of course a group of people who say they don't need more devices and then some people saying they wish the devices were available separately because they just want...

Re: Strange behaviour exporting and importing MIDI files
I get exactly the same thing when exporting/importing in Reason. Just to check, I ALSO get exactly the same thing if I generate a smooth PB curve in Logic, export it and import it back into Logic. And also either directly between Logic and Reason.

Re: Problem playing sequencer midi notes on a hardware synthesizer
Thank you very much for the response, jam-s. I'm not able to make it work. The MIDI Out only lets me select my Audio interface, which is studio 24. As I say, I can play and record Take 5 and have it simultaneously generate the audio and MIDI notes of what I play and record. But I'm not able to play...

Any tool that can side-chain onething can side-chain another, so yes this should work for reverb as well as anything.

Re: DIY rockwool acoustic panels
Fiberglass can be an itchy nightmare, continuously sheds glass particles if not hermetically sealed, especially if you're moving panels in and out of place. There's an alternative made out of recycled blue jeans, more expensive no doubt. I've heard of that - apparently, rockwool is a lot easier on ...

Re: Speakers in corners (the worst case)
A final update on the R2850DB + T5 combo: So, I tested with the T5 sub on the ground (center, not corner, cause the audio cable is too short), and the R2850DB on the desk this time. They worked a lot better with the sub out. The R2850DB's height and distance won't be a problem. Moving my head up an...

There is no demonstration, explanation or confirmation that second clip will be displayed from the beginning of the editing window if it's not...

Re: Blamco Equalizer Pack vs Red Rock Equivalents
Thank you for your explanation. I took two indicators -- cramping and aliasing -- into consideration as a general clue of how much a developer cares about quality. No cramping and upsampling / an effective anti-aliasing filter (when nonlinearities are involved) do not mean that the EQ overall is go...

Re: Reason 12+ to UAD Luna
It must be user error then! :D I'm definitely keeping an eye on it in case I feel the need to leave Pro Tools :D I wouldn't necessarily think that, I'm suggesting it's a case of what you're used to plus what your natural preferences lead you to. You CAN learn to work in an unnatural environment, it...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
Please underline that twice. Especially as SSL has dark mixer designs, so it's not like it would be breaking the skueomorphic design. It's not just that - the SSL J series console, as well as the E and G series (I've worked on all of these) was a dark grey color. Not sure why they went with the lig...

Re: Speakers in corners (the worst case)
First, most speakers suggest a 30° angle for speakers for an equilateral triangle of 60° each half. Also, many speakers have built in boundary adjustments. And don't forget that many times you have no choice but to put speakers against a wall, and it's not a bad thing unless they are rear ported (th...

Re: Reason 12+ to UAD Luna
Yeah, +1 to everything you said about Pro Tools it gets a lot of hate but I like it a lot because it’s simple and it works great. I gave Luna another shot this weekend but to me Pro Tools (and also Reason) feels a lot more tactile and faster. With Luna I feel like I have to do a lot of mousing arou...

Re: Blamco Equalizer Pack vs Red Rock Equivalents
BTW, Selig Colouring EQ has Plutec Templates. Interesting. I need to take a closer look at this baby. The only place you can easily see cramping is on parametric shapes. Cramping causes a slight asymmetric shape to the otherwise symmetrical bell shapes. There are not "artifacts" or other sonic iden...

Re: Life after Rewire
Ableton Link is supported by Reason and Logic, so syncing the two should be no problem (I have NOT tested this myself, but Link is pretty fool proof in my experience). I tried Ableton Link but it doesn't sync the timeline positions which is necessary to scrub for specific frames from both sides. An...

Re: Reason 12+ to UAD Luna
Wow OK, it's my least favourite DAW that is currently in active development - even though I am on Mac and use Apollos as my interfaces (which I know aren't necessary anymore), I honestly don't like it at all. I guess just another example of different strokes! My advice is, if you really are preferr...
