Re: Glitches with Reason 10.3 update
I'm using Reason on my laptop with the Realtek chipset with Asio4All V2 driver (buffer size about 512 samples). With the 10.2 version, no problem, except with "computer too slow" messages, but that's Ok since I use plenty of RE and VSTs. How often were you getting the Computer too slow messages? Th...

Re: Can somebody test 'Waves Flow Motion FM Synth' with R10.3
Is this file error important? OTFs are Open Type Fonts. So it's not important , but Reason probably won't either look right, or perhaps fail to start without it. But the error sounds like the file is still open and in use, and that's why it can't be replaced. I don't know why that would happen. I'd...

Re: Reason Drum Kits RE in the shop!
Im currently demoing A List drummer studio this week and i like it enough to where I was thinking about getting the special for $79 for A list drummer bundle. I never noticed this RDK offer until yesterday (i wasnt paying attention since February I guess). Does anyone think It would be better to ge...

Re: Can somebody test 'Waves Flow Motion FM Synth' with R10.3
I always have problems with Waves VSTs. It's about 50:50 that Waves VSTs crash at Reason startup. This hasn't changed in 10.3. I always noticed when loading Reason the cursor changes to have the Waves logo below it for a split-second. Waves VSTs are definitely doing something while being probed dur...

Re: When browsing/loading FX or instruments...........
Another browser inconvenience that often irks me a little, is when you drop a audio sample into the sequencer directly. Then you maybe switch to something else like a synth and browse patches. When you want to go back the folder you were sample browsing in, is there a way to jump back to the sample...

Re: How is the best way to render audio in highest quality?
That is a good video, and should probably be made as a sticky link in this forum. That video is great, but doesn't apply to soft synths and effects, it only applies to band-limited signals. Many software plug-ins will create signals with content above the Nyquist limit. These frequencies will alias...

Re: 10.3 is out!
FWIW, it's not Reason-specific: all other DAWs behave the same when dealing with VSTs. It's always a trade-off between automation/CV resolution and DSP usage. VST3 does support multiple, sample-accurate automation events per buffered batch. So you can have larger buffers, and high-resolution automa...

But it wasn't in Reason 1.0.1. ;) In fact I think it was added in Reason 8.0, or 7.0 at the earliest. I’m pretty sure it was when they integrated Reason and Record. Wasn’t that 5-6? It was even later than I thought: https://www.propellerheads.com/en/reason/updates/release-notes Reason 8.3 / Reason ...

Can anyone tell me if FF's modules have interplugin communication like iZotope's? Pro-Q 3 has a bit of that. It can show frequency collisions and external spectrum overlay. Well, what do you know, I missed that when I was reading about it the first time. - EQ Match feature to automatically match th...

Re: When browsing/loading FX or instruments...........
Can you select the instrument you want to play by clicking on it in the Rack or do you always have to select it in the Sequencer? You have to click to the left, over the wooden frame. There's a chevron pointing right. If you click on that, it'll highlight, and that means the instrument now has MIDI...

And then if you forget to extend the clip to the end of the audio, but then normalise it, it will cut off any audio beyond the end of the original clip length displayed, even if you resize it. Never understood it. This I can explain. Normalize renders the audio as a new recording (and preserves the...

Re: I think I've found a huge KONG bug in Reason 10.3
Thanks for the explanation. That explains why Redrum is different. I use Redrum's Gates to trigger my other drum devices, so I'm keen to learn how the changes affect timing. Until there is a Redrum-like device as a Player, I have to use CV for this instead of MIDI. Even then I think CV is better fo...

Go into the Preferences, and uncheck the box toward the bottom of the General that says, "New devices get browser focus".

Re: 10.3 is out!
I didn't see any difference apart from some songs sounding slightly different with the new engine. Performance seems about the same. Other than timing differences from automation or CV, there should be no differences in sound. If you're hearing something please post how to replicate it, so it can b...

Re: FabFilter Aniversary Sale 40%
Can anyone tell me if FF's modules have interplugin communication like iZotope's? They do not. That's the one thing that kept me from jumping in completely with FabFilter. Some can accept side-chain inputs, but you have to wire them in the rack, not simply pick another plug-in from a list. I did pi...

Thanks. I felt they all sounded great. on my Sennheiser 280pro I preferred the Loudmax and I and II. will listen also on monitors and my Sennheiser HD600. Differences are small. The track was a bit tricky because of sidechain compression, so I could really detect natural limiting, so it's a matter ...

Re: LoudMax best loudness maximizer ever?
I used each of Ozone's Maximizer modes. The RE only has I and II, but the VST adds III and IV. Threshold to produce -12 dB LUFS, ceiling of -1 dB. I nulled each of Ozone's outputs against each other, and they're very similar except of the transients. There's something slightly different with LoudMax...

I think that should be perfect. I'll do the -1 dB threshold too. File is protected though. I could request access, but probably best if you made it public so anyone checking the thread can compare without bugging you.

Since you've got a referral link there, you must have an account. Why not give it a shot? I've heard it's not bad for a quick master. Pretty much matches the automatic settings in Ozone 8, which I own, so I don't need that service.

Re: Reason 10.3 public beta is open!
Iirc the reason dsp bar shows just simply how much the cpu is being used by all applications running on your system, not just the processes used by Reason. Thus, if you have a lot of miscellaneous system utilities running, the bar might not be too different, until you put a heavy load on it. It doe...
