Having a ball with reason 12 - workarounds for a couple things?

Hi, I have not bought it, I received 6 months free of reason plus with the purchase of my M-Audio 192/6, and activated it 2 days ago. Wow Reason has come a long way. If I was ever to continue using it after sub expires, I will do a month here and there where needed, and I personally think the sub mo...

Re: What are you watching at the moment? (possible spoilers)

Watching DARK. It is so critically acclaimed and highly rated, and I am up to episode 5 now and I am still bored to tears. I can only hope things improve in Season 2 or towards the end of season 1.

Sincere apology to all

Hello fellow musicians. This apology has been a (very) long time coming. Over the past couple weeks, I have sent personal apologies to everybody that should get one, including reason studios and a couple devs. Unfortunately, I have been unable to send one to U-HE, to whom I really, *really* owe an a...

Re: Reason 11.2 and Logic Pro X

The way to do that is with mainstage. I use alchemy that way in pro tools. Sorry to go OT but it might be helpful to you. Oh, never thought of that. I do have Mainstage, so it can be used as a plugin, I must check that out. Thanks! No but it accepts midi in. It's a standalone. Set your buffer to 64...

Kind of expected LPX to have a proper midi input. Wish I could use Logics instruments and effects inside Reason rather than the other way around.

Re: Reason 11.2 and Logic Pro X

It's not that big a deal. In my opinion the Reason Rack plus Logic is a near perfect combination. good to know and sorry I couldn't help but it really is a logic issue.. people have been screaming for midi input selection per track for about 20 years  It's really weird apple refuse to do it.

Re: Reason 11.2 and Logic Pro X

Thanks Hurricane I appreciate your quick response. I've already been using MidiFX Freeze for the Logic Chord trigger. I was hoping that 11.2 Scales and Chords would eliminate the need for it. Seems the 11.2 Midi In/out device is not as functional in Logic X as it is in other DAWS. I wish they'd pub...

Re: When Will Reason 11.X AAX be available?

Only intro for the AAX, intro includes DR Rex. Right, forgot about Intro. It was on sale for just $49 USD over the holidays. If AAX support occurs, might be worth holding out for a holiday sale. So much has changed since I was around.. VST support? WTF? I would have literally put money on it that p...

Whoa, hey Theo!!! It feels like an eternity since I've seen You last. Just wanted to give a quick hello and best wishes. Welcome back to the Reason forum
Very kind of you thanks.

I do lurk once every couple of months or so, just to see what is happening with Reason.

Have a great 2020!

Re: When Will Reason 11.X AAX be available?

PS the one thing I miss about Reason most is Dr Octorex,, although PT does have real time auditioning of both standard wav and tiff files, as well as acidified wavs and apple loops and even rex files, all to tempo in time with the project  I don't even have to rewire Live as a slave anymor...

Re: When Will Reason 11.X AAX be available?

Hi Enoch, Happy 2020 to you. I am just curious, how could props possibly know what DAWs people have been rewiring reason into mostly over all these years? Hey Theo - hope all is well - seeing Australia burn on the news is scary! Anyway, there's two ways: 1. In-house (and/or 3rd party) market resear...

Re: When Will Reason 11.X AAX be available?

Global percentage totals aren't that useful of a metric considering how tiny and specialized audio/music production is in the grand scheme of things. Windows install numbers are heavily padded out by business environments and mainstream general purpose computer users. If we restrict our view to con...

Re: Anyone using an i9-7980XE CPU? Im having issues

You should be able to make use of the unused hyperthreaded virtual cores to get more out of your BEAST of a machine (which makes my imac pro look like a toy LOL) by using vienna ensemble pro.. that *should* be able to tap into all the virtual threads ... if a DAW makes use of hyperthreading, you ca...

Re: Anyone using an i9-7980XE CPU? Im having issues

Have you tried with hyper threading off? You can find the option in the Audio settings. Also, what are the sample rate / latency values ? hyper tre.JPG you are a god. I built this rig cost over 7K just for audio and I couldn't use FN reason and this fixed it for me. YOU ARE A GOD. I disabled Hypert...

Re: How to run loads more VSTs without buying a new CPU

well there you go.. My Logic was that it would be using process space outside of Reason itself.. VE Pro though, *should* be a solution for better performance of VST instruments, and just use your FX in reason over the return channel of the VE Pro audio. People swear by that thing and say using it on...

Re: Best iMac Pro configuration for heavy Reason 10 use?

Hope it's ok to revive this.. I am not a reason user for three years now, but I have been searching audio boards for imac pro topics and this one came up... My main DAW(s) are Pro Tools (for predominantly audio based projects) and Cubase 9 (for fresh compositions). I haven't had a new computer in 7 ...

Re: Introducing Admiral Quality VST/AU plug-in products

wow that's really poor form Avid. I will complain about that in a support email. I pay for support so feel i am entitled to. I work in cubase more and more these days, as it can sit on 64 buffer all day and have amazing performance, so will grab this one soon anyway. Another prop for poly anna.. i r...

Re: Introducing Admiral Quality VST/AU plug-in products

I love Poly Anna.. entirely reasonable on cpu usage too considering the quality of the sound. Interested in the green phaser.. how high does the host sync go in bars? This is what ruins almost all plugin phasers and flangers for me as they never go high enough, hopefully yours does at least 8 bars b...

Re: Softube 'Weiss DS1-MK3' "The gold-standard in mastering dynamics"

no thanks.. the demo video just mushes everything and makes it louder.. and it's once again a one size fits all plugin, with "amount" knobs.. Those things just do not work for all genres of music. Save your money and get a real tool like ozone 8 or even wavelab elements with the light version...

Re: Softube 'Weiss DS1-MK3' "The gold-standard in mastering dynamics"

this is not expensive for what you get, IF you happen to love the weiss sound and know the hardware. What some people fail to realise is that the hardware box that is like 8 grand is digital, and the code has been ported line for line for the plugin. It's no an emulation, it IS the weiss DS1 MK3 in ...

Re: How to run loads more VSTs without buying a new CPU

I thought you must be joking too. 14 tokens to get almost any 32 bit plugin working at 64 bit for reason.... ummm i would have paid double easy. It's a great utility. There’s only one 32 bit plug-in that I still need. That’s SQ8L. The GUI works but is glitchy with jbridge. this was not about 32 bit...

Re: How to run loads more VSTs without buying a new CPU

I don‘t think theres much to improve. Horses for courses. If you want to mix lots of Kontakt instruments with UAD plugins then you simply shouldn‘t use Reason. Some VST plugins (probably those that run well on low buffer sizes because of fitting algos) work just fine in Reason and can nicely improv...
