On windows it is the alt key but it also selects the file menu as it is something that microsoft coded into windows. To return to the original tool press alt again.

I would love to see some kind of association whom could cooperate established VST developers to produce Re using their simulations i.e. DSP code not by direct porting rather some kind of recycleing.

I think both would be good and even better together. For example in Word you can set up how often you want an auto-save but it overwrites the previous version. It would be better if the file could contain its history and you could set up how often you want to have a saved version with some kind auto...

While we are at it I would love to be able to join audio clips and preserve their volume fades.
