Calling all SoundFlower routing with Reason experts!
also, I hear lots of artifacts, blips and stuff when routing into most effects. even with buffer size back to 512 on both reason and sound flower. Do you know of a way to hit a sweet spot with no artifacts? All you can really do to find the sweet spot is start low and keep setting them higher unt...

Calling all SoundFlower routing with Reason experts!
Thanks for this. I changed the settings to what you showed but there is still about half a second delay even with reason buffer size at 64 samples, and sound flower 64ch also set to 64. What have you been getting? Do you hear yours almost zero? I usually have all mine set to 64. I'm using http:/...

Calling all SoundFlower routing with Reason experts!
Its about 1 second from the audio hitting the effect and back again. Its maybe workable for some things but not for most. I didn't realize it would be this bad and I now totally understand why you recommend having a 2nd DAW even if its just for latency compensation/Rewiring. Make sure you have you...

Envelope Generators
One of the reasons I made the Shape RE was to function as an envelope generator. There is a switch in the back to set it so it won't retrigger.

Razor Tool in Edit mode only splits all clips?
In Edit mode, razor tool is disabled in the clip lane when a clip is selected and being edited. If no clip is selected, the razor tool becomes available when in the clip lane. So if you enter edit mode by double clicking on a clip, that clip is open for editing, select the razor too and click anoth...

Quick question about CV
You can do this with Thor's sequencer. Set Step Count to 1 Set Step ones velocity to 64 Set Run Mode to 1-shot Set LFO2 to random waveform Then in the mod matrix LFO2->100->Step Sequencer Velocity Then when you press Run, you will get a pulse of random velocity out of the Step Sequencers Gate/Veloci...

EQ Spectrum analysing send channels in the Mixer
I would have been doing this since Record, mainly because it's how I've always used a real SSL. Sadly, unlike the real SSL you cannot solo isolate mix channels when used as returns… not a huge deal but for some reason it seems to keep bugging me (old habits die hard, I guess). ;) True, True.. ther...

EQ Spectrum analysing send channels in the Mixer
This even works for send effects directly. Just use the Mix Channel instead of a Combinator. Send into the input, and return from the Direct Outs. Ever since I tried running sends to their own mix channel I've never gone back. I don't use the returns either, just all sends get their own submix. W...

EQ Spectrum analysing send channels in the Mixer
You can change the send to "pre" and pull the channel fader down, then the master analyzer will show only the 'returns' (and you will hear only returns). Too bad the analyzer can't be assigned to the Control Room out, as you could do this quickly by "listening" to the FX returns only. :) You could...

Why do 3D renderings of REs look so odd???
From about 0:03 - 0:05 it shows the device being rotated in the tool that most people (myself included) probably use to generate their shots.joeyluck wrote:I thought someone else said that the beginning of the video shows the RE SDK software...?

Why do 3D renderings of REs look so odd???
Its just the perspective in the tool the devs use. If you close one eye and put your face 10 inches from a real 19 inch rack device, you will see the knobs look the same way.

About modulation Matrixes.....
I've never really approached this from the perspective of looking for good source / destination combinations. What I do when playing with a patch is generally move the knobs on the patch as its playing, then if that movement is interesting when I do it manually with the mouse, then I think about au...

Midi Sync Output More than one external device?
Quick and easy way is to use MidiPipe
http://www.subtlesoft.square7.net/MidiPipe.html
One input, Message Filter (Timing Clock, Start/Stop/Continue), Then Two outputs (One to beatstep, one to iOS)
MidiPipe Input will show up in Reason's Output list.

Q : Tip for a good USB hub
I've had good luck with one of these hooked to my macbook pro for ~2 years. And unlike a lot of other models, it comes with a power adapter. http://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Technology-Chipsets-backwards-compatibility/dp/B00483WRZ6/ref=sr_1_41?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1425854224&sr=1-41&keywords=usb+hub And ...

Reveal Sound Spire RE confirmed in the works!!!!
@rcbuse: what's your thoughts on this? While it is possible for compilers to untangle normal code to use SSE/MMX instructions, it is not going to produce the same kind of results you would get with spending some time and reorganizing your code to make full use of the instructions. There are a lot ...

Reveal Sound Spire RE confirmed in the works!!!!
Not really, for one SSE is automatically used by the compiler if the code is appropriate for it and additionally SSE doesn't make sense for too many DSP applications. This response confuses me. You have to do quite a bit of groundwork to make the code appropriate the SEE/SIMD instructions to be g...

hey, it would be great to use Shape as an OSC like the Movement RE by Blamesoft. I guess Shape us OSC would be mind blowing :D what do you think about that idea @rcbuse Freeform waveform drawing for an oscillator is a cool idea. But I think it would be more at home inside a full synth rather tha...

Both have had their device thumbnails updated so they are no longer big blank screens on the browser, but reflect the real device.

This might be a bit noobish of me to ask, but is there a way record the midi notations of the instruments Korde is outputting to? The Autotheory guys made really nice instructions for this, which applies to all devices that output cv note/gate: http://www.pitchblende.co.nz/AutoTheory/AutoTheory%20N...

I've looked into creating a company here in the US and there seems to be many options. All have different levels of involvement, complexities... whatnot. Through LegalZoom I looked and you can create a company's TIN/EIN, offer TAX and legal advice and a slew of other things for around $300. If y...
