Re: DIY rockwool acoustic panels
When I said that, I meant to cover the back with wood, and the front with fabric. By now, the absorbers in the room will have a wood frame with rockwool in them, and then covered with linen. For the "cloud" absorber, I will probably use wall brackets. But the absorbers that go on the wall, is anoth...

Re: Controlling parameters with midi cc and remote.
You already have a combinator, I'd route a combi button to the whole lot of parameters and use remote to route one of the buttons of the oxigen to the combinator knob. To my knowledge, Remote doesn't allow you to route one device to multiple controls or vice versal. This is better achieved with a Co...

Re: DIY rockwool acoustic panels
All I need to know is whether to leave the back of acoustic panels open, with fabric on? Or should I buy sound isolating panels (common in offices for example), and put that on the back for better isolation? Nooooooo.... Man you are better off with no Acoustic panels than with a serious lung proble...

Re: DIY rockwool acoustic panels
I think i bought it on the curtains section. Yep, I got the cloth for my panels from the curtains section at IKEA :puf_bigsmile: Right????? It works! You need more "whooly" fabric than soft tissues. The good thing is that rockwook is way less aggressive than fiberglass. But you still don't want tha...

Re: DIY rockwool acoustic panels
The 'breath test' is so vague I tend to stick with the known sources such as GIK. All my studio panels are from GIK, but they also sell all the raw materials for the DIY'er. It's $12/yard for the basic fabric, which is 65" wide (by 36") which is more than enough for a typical 2x4 panel. The cheapes...

Re: DIY rockwool acoustic panels
Sheets are typically the opposite of acoustic transparent materials, with higher thread counts that will block much of the sound from coming into the trap. They reflect many of the very frequencies you’re trying to absorb with all that rockwool. You need to wrap the rockwool to be sure, you just do...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
Can I get a bit of advice please? I’m on R12 with Reason+ and intend to try R13, it looks great. This is my first ever version change. If I try 13 and decide I want to go back to 12, do I also have to reinstall all the sound banks/drum supply/plugins etc? Or can you change and uninstall/reinstall t...

Bossa passed away Sunday, March 24th at 01:30 pm. I had the privilege of meeting with him every Wednesday evening for the past six months. We talked about music mainly and life and the end of life in general. He was my friend for almost 30 years. What a great guy and musician! ALS is a hard enemy. ...

Re: Good Speaker Monitoring for Mix and Mastering or Sound designing
I recently tested some speaker monitoring around 500-600 $ : KRK Rokit7 G4 Adam T7V Yamaha HS7 Presonus E7 XT Focal Alpha 6.5 (a little higher price) at this price range, almost all of the speakers add color to your sound. I don't care if you enjoy listening to your speakers. What we want as a musi...

Re: Bouncing mixer channels with fx
I'm assuming you want to mix this on another daw. Bouncing mixer channels follows the mixer signal flow, so the only effects you can export with single channels are the inserts. That's why there are specific export channels for send fx's, the master channel and paralels, and if it is a master effect...

Re: How to choose a good Sound Card
I agree with Selig. And I don't think you have an issue with the phone amp either, at least considering the AKG K701 are 65 ohm, so there shouldn't be an issue with them or the soundcard. Do you listen to music with this system? How does it compare to your productions? What do you mean to say the ca...

Re: How to choose a good Sound Card
First and foremost this should be on the hardware forum, so if any admin can pull it there, I'd be great. To the point... The choice of a soundcard depends on the functionality you want from it. You say your audiobox is not enough for your monitors and headphones, but this is a bit too undefinite be...

Man i totally missed this.
I mix stuff for 20 years now, but i really like and always learn stuff by seeing others doing it, so I'm sure I'll check it out!
I might do one of these myself one day, to show off my BCF2000x3 + BCR2000 modus operandi while mixing with reason!
