Re: Announcing Reason 13
Opened a reason 12 project recently I closed about one month ago ... I am going to work on it again but man, what a mess this sequencer track structure is, simply terrible. I need now at first around 10 minutes to get into thisd track structure again before I can continue making music. I colored tr...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
I guess VSTs and things like Splice kinda made ReFills redundant for most new users. Us old-heads have a soft spot for them but a 'closed' format like ReFills doesn't make a lot of sense for people who want to freely access those samples from other DAWs or whatever.

Re: Logic Pro for$200 or should I upgrade to Reason 13?
It's good, for $200. Lots of great features, and some really usable sounds. The actual features of 11 aren't *that* amazing IMO. So I consider this at 10.5 if I'm honest. The only things I'm not to keen on are some of the older instruments. Specifically their ugly-ass early 2000s GUIs. I would proba...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
So this detached browser isn't new Reason Studios did this before and it didn't pan out so great so I guess lets try it again and see if it works this time around is the general idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=963gkzEkOF4 Which version was this?! I have like zero memory of this happening. How...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
I know the arrows thing seems kinda minor but like, a lot of times I feel most inspired when I've just got the laptop on me on the couch, and nothing else. But clicking and dragging or guessing notes is just a bit of a creativity killer. And as soon as I've got my USB C adapter and a mini keyboard o...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
I just want note labels in the sequencer like in Live, FL studio and Bitwig with note folding. Simple thing to do, especially when you’re working on a small laptop screen and don’t want to trace the note back to the piano on the side. I'd like to see note labels too, mostly for key switches. Althou...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
As someone who started their musical journey on an Atari ST with Cubase 2 and a General MIDI sound module, I do have an immense appreciation for what we do have right now. If I ever moan it's only ever because I do genuinely love the software and want it to be SO good that other people love it too....

Re: Announcing Reason 13
I agree with ChimpSpanner its the small QoL features that would make a big difference. I also agree that colour scheme changes are meh! who cares. However, I would point out that RS are providing a product and a service so its natural for folks to compare with similar service providers or products....

Re: Announcing Reason 13
So weird to be reading updates on this thread. I just bought a used copy of Kurt "Peff" Kurasaki's Power Tools for Reason 2.5. Why? Mainly for the nostalgia, but also a reminder of what it was like in the early 2000s. Reason was seen as cutting edge and there was an incredible amount of excitement ...

Can one of you post a link to an old discussion or give me some bullet points as to why one would get and/or need this RE. I’ve heard it praised many times but I don’t think I quite understand its purpose and function to see the value. A list of the many (MANY!) presets that ship with it might help...

Re: Static Cling - Delta
Ah yeah I did consider that but it's only 4 slots, instead of 8! Was thinking of using it like a little 8 step random sequencer ya know. I guess I could use two Chance Switches, and then use probability to switch between them. But then it's cable spaghetti!

Please underline that twice. Especially as SSL has dark mixer designs, so it's not like it would be breaking the skueomorphic design. Monosnap SSL BiG SiX - Studiospares 2024-05-21 07-35-47.png I mean there are RE's that have alternate skins. Can't remember the names off the top of my head but it's...

Having a blast with this one after someone on one of the FB group users was asking what it could do. Exploring it as a generative sequencer and it's really cool - owned it for ages but never tried it in this way. One thing I wish was that the Seq Switch had a random mode. Currently it's just forward...

Parafilter - help!
Hey all, had this RE for ages but never used it because I cannot for the life of me figure out the sequencer. None of the modifiers work and once I've drawn in a point I can't do anything with it. Can't move it, delete it, nothing. Is this bugged/broken? Or am I a dumbdumb?

Re: What would cause a VST3 to display a Write Problem error?
NVM solved it. The plugin (Realeight) was waiting for license activation. Weird that that's the error I got, instead of the plugin displaying but that might be on the plugin dev side.

What would cause a VST3 to display a Write Problem error?
Hey all! Trying to load RealEight guitars by Musiclab, which I've done before on both PC and Mac. On Mac again, Sonoma. And when I drag it in it says Operation Could Not Be Completed Because Of A Write Problem.
Any ideas? Is this some kind of disk permission thing or something else?

Re: Announcing Reason 13
I think the issue is if you never use any other DAW then reason is great but if you have any other DAW, you realize how behind reason is as a DAW. Reason for me is now a plug-in that I use in other DAWS… Reason feels like software from 10 years ago. It is missing so many features. I always come bac...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
I will say even as a long time user (like 2 onwards) there are some things that I don't use as much as I should, mostly due to them currently being in the F8 toolbox or dotted around in menus. So I'm really looking forward to those being brought into the new editor pane. Also, superficial as it migh...
