Re: VST's - Reason discussion
I'd go with most,if not all suggestions here. There's also http://wiki.cockos.com/wiki/index.php/ReaRoute I still to this day cannot understand why PH is holding out here--they always had audio in using ReBirth's interface. It will register as a host, and another programme will detect up...

..but for synth bass, I don't have a particular preference. I do sometimes gravitate towards Khs One, TRES, Thor, and Antidote. Etch Red is often found in my chains, too.[/quote]
I love Antidote, but I never liked it for basses for some reasons. I cannot explain it.

What do you use for bass?
What Reason stock synth or Rack Extension do you use most for basslines? From the stock synth I like Subtractor and Thor, both have snappy envelopes. In the last time I use Zero very often, because it can produce very deep basses and with the grafic envelope you have a lot off control over the filte...

Re: Does Reason have proper multicore support?
I have no explanation why, but Reason utilizes all 4 of my "Skylake" logical cores. Maybe you've accidentally accessed those esoteric thread settings ;) Nahh, it's a clean install of R8 on my new system. No settings were migrated over. It's some variation of R8, OSX El Capitan and the latest 6700k ...

Re: ACID Transistor Filter from Primal Audio *coming January 2016*
You are absolutely right, Primal Audio should develope an analog synth as Rack Extension with all their filters.miscend wrote:It's time to built a subtractive synth with all these nice filters. Something to rival Diva and Monark for Reason.
That would be great!

Re: Kilohearts' Disperser released
I think this would be a bonus if possible, but certainly not necessary for this device. IMO it would just be fun visual feedback, but not something I personally would need to reference, as hearing is believing :) Also, the display offers the notes relevant to the frequencies which comes in quite ha...

Re: No new RE releases in the shop
There's a few in beta at the moment... - Kilohearts' Disperser will be an exciting addition to the shop very soon. - Noel G. has teased that there is a synth on the way from a popular VST developer. Close enough at least for him to inquire with the developer if he can share images yet. - Primal Aud...

No new RE releases in the shop
Maybe it's just me, but I'm wondering why there are no new Rack Extension releases in the last weeks.
Do you have any suggestions, what's the reason for that. Maybe the NAMM?

The new EDM Refill from Exode is really good. Even better than the Inspire Refill.
I hope exode will make a similar Refill for Zero, that would be great.

Just been reading a thread on aliasing on Gearslutz. Has anyone else watched this video? http://youtu.be/l18HOo7vivg Maybe too in depth for some but I think it is relevant to this thread. I might do a few tests myself with various Reason synths. I guess all of these are running at 96khz. I guess, t...

Re: Comparing the Saws (of various Reason synths)
I did a quick raw comparison of a simple supersaw filter sweep between Thor and Sylenth1: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/614947/Forums/ThorSylenth.aif It's not exactly night and day, at least not at the fundamental level. It does change a bit when one considers envelopes, internal FX and filte...

Re: Comparing the Saws (of various Reason synths)
Interesting analysis, but the shape of the waveform is a very poor indicator of how it sounds. Agreed. The sawtooth in Sylenth1 is almost a perfect sawtooth wave too, yet, when comparing it to Dune 1, which also looks quite similar, they sound differently, and Thor, which also seems to be an almost...

Re: The Mace Professional Compressor - in the shop
I wish LabOneRecordings would implement a switch with an option for a real look ahead, so that the compressor would catch the first transient. Real look ahead could cause latency / timing / phasing when doing parallel work... just so you know :D Can it be a settings option? There are times where MA...

Re: so how "big" are your tracks?
I produce Trance and usually use 40- 50 tracks in a song. This includes tracks for drums and transition-fx. In trance there is often used a lot of layering sounds, which results in a lot of tracks. The downside of this is, that I reach very fast the CPU limit. The use of cpu intensive RE's like Zero...

Re: THOR MkII update request
I'd love to see the nnxt nano as an oscillator type in Thor, as well as something similar to a Malstrom Osc type. More filter types would also be welcome, but not as necessary IMO. I wish the LFO and env types could be selectable... Yes Selig, a nnxt nano OSC is a great idea. Lots of possibilities ...

what kind of oscillator? the analog OSC is not too clean, very analog. and the wavetable is the cleanest OSC anyone can imagine. as clean as the OSC's of Ableton Operator. Yes, the analog OSC is OK and the wavetable OSC is clean, but there are still things which can be improved or added: - Stacked/...
