Great discussion here. Can anybody weigh in on when Haas panning would be preferable to regular panning?

I watched the video a few more times, and I see what you mean. My method mentioned above is only what I thought was the haas effect. I basically use it for thickening single vocal tracks.

Or, they could have made it a 1u size. Not a lot needed from the UI to take up a 2u slot. Has anybody used the VST? I'm curious what people mainly use it for.

Thanks for the description, Sinistereo. I didn't fully understand the mathematical intricacies of the haas effect. My poor man's haas effect is to take a DDL with delay times of 8-15ms and pan a little to one side, then pan the dry signal a little the other way. Some times I would do this with tw...

Nothing you can't do with a DDL-1 and a line mixer. I'm struggling to see a good use, since each voice only has a mono input.

Judging by the video they put out, and if Dynarage is any indicator, I will not like this Bass Amp.

Need a new laptop for Reason....suggestions?
CPU is the name of the game. I recommend getting an i7 4700, 4710, 4712 or something with a 47 in front of it. They are quad core, 8 thread CPUs. Don't be fooled by something that says i7 with a 4500 number, such as 4520u, 4510u. They are not performance processors, and it's a scam to call them ...

Neptune update!
I think Propellerheads needs to build an offline solution of their own or create a partnership with someone like Melodyne to create an enhancement to Reason that can handle pitch correction. They should make it so you can right click on a clip and select something like "Offline Pitch Correction" or...

Kuassa and Softube for guitar
I find Vermillion is great for giving an analogue sound to sampled instruments. Specifically the clean tone settings with a stereo cabinet. This is the first guitar amp where I actually like the clean tone sounds more than the distorted sounds. That being said, the distorted tones a fantastic. I...

Selig DeEsser - Real Talk
I really don't know what I would do without it. The Leveler and De-esser are must haves for my vocal chain. I find tons of uses for his Gain RE too. The De-esser will allow you to boost some top end of the vocals if you need to without completely frying out the sibilants. Very nice and useful. ...

Question:Can REASON used a DSP audio card ?
If you are maxing out your 4770 CPU, then you are probably using a few very high CPU rack extensions. Certain REs can really chew up CPU power. What are the main REs that you use? We can tell you if there are any you should use sparingly. Can you tell me if you are using the stock Intel CPU heat...

Softube Transient Shaper and Mutator: RE versions around the corner?
You are a funny man, Enoch :) I'm not saying Pulverizer is the exact same thing as Mutator, but it's close enough not to matter. LFOs? Check! Filters? Check! Envelope Followers? Check! Autopan? Check! Oh wait, can Mutator autopan? As for Transient Shaper, the DCAM Envelope shaper works a...

Softube Transient Shaper and Mutator: RE versions around the corner?
Why do we need any of these? Pulverizer does what Mutator does but better. The FXPansion Envelope Shaper is amazing and very cheap. We don't need more crazy expensive Softube stuff that doesn't bring anything new.

Carve is in the Shop
Hey OchenK, would you be willing to consider changing the AMT range to something more manageable? I know you said that you found the 300% range helpful in your music. However, most of use would use this to create sonic room for very loud track by cutting slightly ducking portions of other tracks. ...

Saw it this morning and bought instantly. Very good price for a great device. This will make dynamic EQ a lot easier and cleaner, and more precise than my current process of using a combinators, EQs and Compressors. Fantastic price at $25! Compare this thing to DQ, which is $39 and only compress...
