Re: Hardware vs Software
We are lucky that both hardware and software are so good these days. And there is good relatively affordable hardware. I mostly use software. It is quicker and easier and more powerful. But I have gotten more into hardware in recent years. Simply because I like it. It more tactile and fun. Get me a...

Re: Hardware vs Software
I use everything ITB nowadays. I had some synths and a roland sequencer in the 90/2000's but once i got reason i got rid of them. And when i started producing my own stuff, i mixed mostly ITB, apart from a bit of an hybrid approach about eq'ing and compression with some outboard gear. However i then...

Re: Is there a player that can add/remove delay?
If what you're trying to delay or advance is midi, i think you can use the regroove mixer timming slide knob. Negative values advance midi in time. I use this a lot when i need to unmask rhitmic stuff that is too quantized (have you ever felt live drums sound more snappy than midi ones? a part of th...

Re: I bought Friktion today after trial run and is amazing
I haven't used it a lot, but it's super inspiring to play it with a EWI. What's also very interesting is that it not only sounds great on bowed strings but it sounds pretty nice too for wind instruments. Here's a video i did when it got out, showing off using it with an EWI! Really fun instrument! h...

Re: Is there utility in Reason 12 to make specific range mono?
Remember that making bass mono was initially done to prevent tracking problems with vinyl. But like many things that are repeated without context, folks don’t remember the problem they only remember the solution. Yep, this is real. But there are "solutions" like this that work really well on an art...

In cubase i feel it's slow but not more than 20, 30secs, and only in the first instance.

Re: Are you taking advantage of blocks?
I am, basicly in two ways: 1 - Music arrangement and instrumentation: Blocks allow you to segment your song into parts, so I always start with a base song structure (intro, verse 1, verse 2, chorus, bridge and ending). The structure, helps one to expand from simple 8 bar loops, to complete songs. Yo...

Additional devs who I think would also be good to send this request to are Kuassa and Red Rock Sound. Aside from having a fixed channel strip, have you seen Red Rock's ModularRE? https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack-extension/modularre-multi-effect-processor/ https://shop-20220407094725533500000...

Re: Can you only install Reason on your C drive?
It's a tool to create graphical representation of the directory and file sizes on your drive. Personally I prefer windirstat for this. Treeview allow you to expore your hardrives while seeing each one of the folder's allocated space. It also has a visual info section but i have never expl...

Re: Can you only install Reason on your C drive?
Really cheesing me off, I've deleted everything I can delete off my c drive and I'm still a couple of gb short of what I need but have (not sure off hand) but probably about 10gb of space (probably more) on my 2nd drive, D drive. Hey, you might have stuff lurking out of reason too. My companion for...

Re: Reason 12.5.0 Released (VST3)
I also find awkward why people don't ask auto punch in more. It's because we've been asking for auto punch in for almost 14 years (since Record 1.0 anyway), and I have pretty much given up on it appearing. :puf_unhappy: I'm with you though - I can auto punch-in using Ableton Live and Stud...

Re: Reason 12.5.0 Released (VST3)
I agree on the need for a Punch in/out feature. I wish Reason had this feature because it provides a good mix between the "automated" player type music writing and live recording of instruments. The current comping system works to some degree but I would prefer to play along while hearing the prior...

Re: Reason 12.5.0 Released (VST3)
I also find awkward why people don't ask auto punch in more. TBH, it's almost mandatory if you record yourself when you work in small blocks of a song, and for me it's a lot more effective than recording big blocks and depend only on cycle recording or comping. And all these features are complementa...

Re: Reason 12.5.0 Released (VST3)
Auto Punch in. I need Auto Punch in. I know there are at least a couple of reasons, I have read it somewhere before but since forgot, what does punch in/out give you specifically? Quoting myself because it's tiring discussing this, and believe me if i was recording more, I'd be using Cubase, ...

Hi, We're developing a new wind controller. I have only found one voice setting that has breath control or aftertouch. Re: What are your custom key commands / shortcuts?
I used AutoHotKey (and AutoIt) in the past, and also RemoteKey which let you build custom toolbars with scripts behind the buttons. I stopped using those when I switched to Reaper, and it got custom toolbars implemented. Now, using Reason, I didn't get back to these scripting tools and I now use To...

Re: What are your custom key commands / shortcuts?
We don't have that on Windows, but i did a super big ass AutoHotKey script that does a lot of stuff. It also helps glue my devices together (3 BCF2000 and a BCR2000) to toggle between controlling the mixer, mixer channels and devices. It's really big... :) And does really exquisite stuff, like expor...

Re: Multiple remotemap files ?
Remote Maps are already per hardware device. If you had per reason device/per hardware device, it would be a really big mess. I once created an app for remote map editing. It worked ok'ish but had a bunch of flaws, and I ended using it less than editing the remotes in the files, so I stopped working...

Ok, i have a new present for me!!! :) This + AutoHotKey will be amazing specially since it works as a surface. Re: Rockwool or Fiberglass? (Insulation & Sound absorbtion)
In terms of insulation rock wool and fiberglass will do pretty much the same job of keeping you warm. Both will also give you a rash and make you cough. Take it from one who knows. Just use old egg boxes and quilts like the rest of us. Current egg prices are crazy. And they say they don't work. Wel...
