Re: New Mac user, need help with file organization
With Finder active go to the top menu bar and open Finder > Preferences... > Advanced (tab). There is a section called "Keep folders on top:" which can be configured so that it sorts files/folders more like in Windows.

Re: Microsoft buys Activision Blizzard
Microsoft make money selling software, not hardware. I think they'd be throwing money away by removing COD from PlayStation. On the other hand, games that don't exist yet, such as future genres from the War/StarCraft universe that were already PC exclusive could bolster their Gamepass subscription ...

Re: Reason Studios updates their roadmap (November 17, 2021)
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed by some of these delays, but I have no doubt the core development team is working as hard as they can to get R12 into shape. I think it'll eventually get to where it needs to be, but that's not much consolation for pro users who depend on Reason every day...

Re: Reason 12.2.2 is out...
I'm a little surprised Reason itself doesn't automatically refresh its caches whenever an update addresses any related issues. End users shouldn't need to repeatedly dig into their system folders to delete files just to get the program to work properly. This R12 release reminds me of the way so many...

Re: Anyone use an iLok dongle?
I have 90 iLok plugins on hardware key and love the simplicity of it. Since most devs provide 2 or 3 licenses per plugin, I can either use them on a 2nd system with machine authorization or keep them as cloud backups in case my USB key is lost or stolen. I resisted iLok for years, but now find it to...

Re: Fender buy Presonus (Studio One)
The question I always have to ask in situations like this is why would a successful software and technology company, in control of their own destiny, accept a buyout offer from a non-technology company whom they have very little in common with save for "music industry"? Maybe Presonus is not in the ...

Re: Eventide Plug-ins now Natively Support M1-based Macs
Kudos to devs like Eventide, Pulsar, UVI and PSP for releasing their iLok protected plugins early despite only partial (and less secure) M1 native support. Many other devs are still in a holding pattern until PACE gets the entire protection system converted over, but we finally got an update on that...

Re: Logic Pro 10.7
Catalina was a special case, because it removed the ability to run 32-bit software. That’s why so many plugins weren’t compatible for a period of time. Most OS upgrades (including Big Sur) don’t cause the same level of compatibility issues. I would say if a plugin still isn’t 64-bit compatible at t...

Has Effectrix improved over the years? I loved its predecessor, Glitch, but when they rebooted the plugin it never worked as well for me.

Re: Logic Pro 10.7
... sooo many plugin companies have not even caught up to Catalina yet... today apple announced another new os... so again all companies have to revise their plugins to be compatible... Really? That's surprising to me. I have over 380 AU/VST plugins and haven't encountered any performance or compat...

Re: Logic Pro 10.7
These 30 page laundry list Logic Pro point updates are nothing new. They do it throughout the year, every year. Much of it will be bug fixes and small tweaks, but there are always a variety of new features large and small sprinkled throughout. I’m just glad to see it getting steady, regular attentio...

Re: Reason 12 LOTS of crashing
Reason used to be nigh uncrashable. Ah, those where the days. In all seriousness though, I'm sure RS aren't happy about it either. Everything about this release reeks of pressure further up the chain pushing for a pre-holiday launch as quickly as possible. I just hope it doesn't take an entire year ...

Re: Falcon 2.5 - Free Update
An interesting side note about this update is that UVI Falcon is pretty much the first iLok protected plugin on the market to be M1 native. This bodes well for the future because tons of 3rd party plugin developers have been stuck in a holding pattern over the past year waiting for the iLok dev tool...

Re: Is Audiomatic Tape setting a good emulation?
In answer to the general question, "Is ART Tape a good emulation?" It depends on if you're well familiar with tape formats/machines and need an accurate emulation of a specific tape on a specific machine, or if you just want a cool effect. The ART Tape preset is actually a little of both, but more ...

Re: Studio One Crossgrade Possibility -- Opinions Sought
Studio One is an excellent traditional DAW, but if I were looking for one which best complements the spirit of Reason as a semi-modular playground that encourages creative sound design and different approaches to music making, I would look at Bitwig. It seems like the most Reason nerd friendly DAW o...
