Re: delay function in Tranta 2

Is this an existing patch or one you built from scratch? If it's a pre-existing patch that you're editing you may check to see if there's some other thing creating the panning, like modulation perhaps.

That's why I suggested you change your SoundCloud password. If you don't want to do that then that's your choice.
There's nothing they could get from my SoundCloud that they wouldn't already have if they managed to get access to my email accounts, besides the ability to post and delete content.

Re: Anyone using AI art?

Further complicating the copyright issue is the concept of "Fair Use" in US copyright law. Without getting too deep into those weeds, it states that there are some cases where using derivative works (or even outright copying things) is permissible under certain conditions. For example, a critical re...

Re: Minor Mystery: Why would anyone want to steal my SoundCloud account?

You say you checked the sites that emailed you the password change request emails, and you were automatically logged in. Did you follow the link in the email request or go to the site via a separate tab on your browser? Perhaps I wasn't clear: The site was SoundCloud. The letters I got were auto-ge...

Minor Mystery: Why would anyone want to steal my SoundCloud account?

Two of my email addresses recently were sent that kind of "password change request" that websites often automatically generate if you forget how to log-in the site. And it wasn't me who requested the change. Going to the site itself showed no changes; in fact, the site recognized my computer and put...

Re: Fantastic Interview with Mute Records founder Daniel Miller from 1998!

First thing I ever bought from them was their Snakedrill EP , ironically ("Drill" was just a bonkers cool song)! Followed by The Ideal Copy - I think I had the track "Ahead" on several playlists during those years! Also covered "Ahead" myself during my early 90's gig days, though those recordings a...

Re: Fantastic Interview with Mute Records founder Daniel Miller from 1998!

It's interesting that this comes up now just as I've gotten my copy of the Duet Emmo reissue album in the mail. Duet Emmo was a project featuring Daniel Miller and two members of Wire, B.C. Gilbert and Lewis. Miller signed Wire in the 80s to Mute after they'd severed connections with EMI and taken a...

Re: Which IR sample rate to use in Reason?

I guess it would depend mainly on the plug-in. If the plug-in adapts its processing to the impulse's sample rate, then maybe there might be less resampling moving from the VST to Reason's internal signal chain, if you go from 48kHz to 48kHz. But if processing power is an issue, in that case you migh...

Re: Who's Got a Reel to Reel Recorder?

(back when baking tape was still some kinda unknown gris gris) Gah…. tape baking!!! Yes, forgot about that too. In '86 I took an electronic music course at college and wound up with several quarter-inch reels of weirdness. At some point in the 90s I wanted to transfer the stuff to digital so I coul...

Live is amazing. it's just as easy to pick up and run with as Reason, Is it? I'm genuinely curious. One of the reasons I started with Reason (heh) was back in the day, when I was first starting out in digital music and trying to work out which DAW I was going to use, I demoed a bunch of the stuff a...

Re: New Free Synth from Kia (yes the car manufacturer)

Wtf? Is it useful? Anyone tried? I tried using the standalone version and maybe I'm an idiot but I can't get it to do anything I want. There's the ambient generator, a pulse-width VCO, a noise generator, and a sort of LFO. The LFO's rate is tied to the keyboard. As far as I can tall, all the musica...

Re: New Free Synth from Kia (yes the car manufacturer)

HA! According to their site: 120 BPM is the tempo in which synchronization of the heartbeat elicits the positive, calm focus we need to unlock flow. Increasing the song's speed helps increase this state of focus. Ages ago, maybe even on the original PUF, there was a thread asking why 120 BPM is the ...

Humans. Glass half full much? In all seriousness - while there's plenty of plausible scenarios where civilization might collapse, and humanity reverts to the stone age or something, it's my opinion that anything devastating enough to wipe out humanity entirely, and make humans become extinct, is en...

Microbes and plants might survive, but which animal will survive the end of the world so that evolution begins again from that animals reproduction rather than from scratch.
Humans.

Re: What divisions should teach us, and why it's spiralling now

The fairness doctrine wasn't about eliminating viewpoints; it was about obligating time for opposing viewpoints. The game that is often played these days is a parody of the fairness doctrine, where a news organization has a definite slant on a particular issue (pick a direction, it doesn't matter),...

Re: What divisions should teach us, and why it's spiralling now

In matters like these, there just isn't a single simple answer that is right. But that shouldn't be a problem. The key is to open dialogue to understand other positions so that we can look at things from more angles. Our education systems have failed us, as an introduction to the various schools of...

Re: What divisions should teach us, and why it's spiralling now

These are interesting points. Ultimately, though, I doubt stating them will help much. I feel that one of the reasons things are getting more divided is that people aren't arguing about facts so much as they are about morality. Whether X fact is or isn't true, or can or can't be verified in some way...
