When you say the "latest," do you mean Reason 11? Rewire has been removed from Reason 11. Reason 10 is the last version to support Rewire.

The recommended way of using Reason 11 with another DAW is to load it as a VST3 plug-in.

What program are you using to play the exported files? It's possible that it has its own volume control, and isn't playing at the full level.

Try starting a new Reason project and importing the exported wave into it, and playing from there. (Or look for a volume control in your player software.)

More likely to be ASIO drivers than Reason, but I'm not a dev so I can't say for sure.

There are so many USB drivers that are absolutely horrible with suspend/resume. If it's an ASIO driver for a USB interface, I'd expect nothing but problems.
