Hey guys,
I got my new pc with a 4 cores i5 3570K as cpu and after few sessions with Reason i notice that it never use the 4 cores but only 3 and one stay always at idle and this even with the "use all cores" option enabled. So is Reason limited to 3 cores only ?
Do Reason is limited to 3 cores only ?

As devilfish said, yes - Reason does in fact use all logical cores. It's just that one is reserved for GUI/UX (which doesn't take that much CPU anyway) as well as OS operations. Fun fact: Reason also supports Hyperthreading, so if you had an i7 that had virtual cores, Reason would utilize those for disc i/o, high quality stretch and resample, and many other operations that don't include audio DSP (which is reserved for logical cores only).Voyager wrote:Hey guys,

It should be enabled by default, but check Reason's Preferences. There's a checkbox for the "use multicore" option.scratchnsnifff wrote:Waaaiiiit a minute I have a quadcore i7 3.4 jigga-wat system I think it's 3.4, what ever came in last years MacBook Pro, how do I enable "multicore processing" or what ever it would be called, haha I'm wondering if iv only been using one core this whole time
