Interesting rack extension. Watched the stream at 1.5x speed and enjoyed it very much. 👍 Very interesting sonic capabilities on this device. Well done!

Didn't pay attention to the chat except for on one epic moment where I learnt that apparently hoboys is an old enemy of the people, the previously banned, never missed, pop producer that goes by the name of Edward. 😂

hello,

i agree with moneykube about having a 'patch list'
for those of us who are still on R10

out of the 150 patches, how many are 'combi v2'?

this is a valid question and should be posted on the shop page for the device

it's only fair

cheers and eat well,

j

I made this point when BLG got released as an R11 suite owner who tried R12+ but decided it wasn't worth the price or the bugs ;)

It's literally 1 combinator patch.

Check out the live stream later today, there's quite a bit more to it than that. :)
Thanks for your reply. I did watch the livestream yesterday, and it is indeed a nice package. But the way I see it, it is more aimed at the quick fix crowd that want an instant R&B (for example) backing vocal. From my perspective, this takes away from the unlimited possibilities that Reason gives us in patching whatever super FX or super instrument we want. I still didn't see anything spectacular in the livestream that I can't get (at least) close to with what is already available to me in Reason, even without using additional VST effects.

I don't want to be negative, Reason is an electronic music production powerhouse and this new vocoder will surely be on many people's list to get. But for me, as someone who has built his own hardware back in the day (synthesizer, vocoder, analog sequencer, several FX, amps, etc.), experimentation with devices is key, and I like my vocoder being just that; the vocoder component that I can plug into any constellation of other devices. The new vocoder goes against this. Its integrated components is one of its selling points, but it is precisely why I'm not interested.

Looks and sound cool, but.... we need a better sequencer, no more devices.

Thank you
I totally agree with you, mate. For those musicians who use Reason as a DAW, a revised and overhauled Sequencer incl. Track Folders, Markers, etc. is way more interesting than new devices. But RS has a different Roadmap, as they have officially stated. Hence, a new sequencer will not be seen in 2022. But we can hope that they are going to focus on that in 2023 then.

Nevertheless, the BV-X is fun to play and to manipulate sounds with. :)

Thanks for the info and to be clear I'm not bi**hing about the product/s but it's now a fact that newer devices will be using CMBv2 patches and for some people who have decided not to upgrade your not able to open certain patches - obviously

At least it's possible to trial RE's and see for yourself
I assume that BLG for example has individual repatch files for the synth presets not just CMBv2 so the content is mostly accessible to all.

I believe the thing to keep in mind is these devices aren’t reliant on combinators. There’s always going to be plenty of patches that are for the device itself. And like you said. If if by some strange reason it was mostly combinator patches you can’t be duped into buying something you can trial for 30 days.

Yeah totally agree and with most effects and player devices once you have been through the presets to see what they are doing and how you're probably going to just drop the init patch into the rack and set it up as you want rather than actually using the presets.

I definitely would prefer to have seen CMBv2 in R11 as these discussions wouldn't necessarily be happening but it's not entirely a bigger deal breaker than R12 being a requirement for the new devices.

I wonder when Ekss vocoder comes out.
It's been delayed due to a bug that took long time to solve (still not sure if it's fixed) waiting reply from acceptance testing. In the meantime I'm working on a Reverb & Delay and planning to release all three as a bundle as they will work nicely together. :)

Congrats on the release! Happy to see a vocoder device!
It is lovely / good / decent but showing Reason more love (as in feature's) would've been better. ;)

I know this is a private conversation but slagging off each other’s grandparent isn’t very productive.

How does it apply to grandparents? I'm losing the thread.
