Man... They didn't called me since years... No meet up... There must be something wrong with them... Shall we call the police?
Loque I called the police and they suggested I try sending rs a message in a bottle.

I will let you know if I get a reply.

Ok. Thanks. The letter will hopefully arrive right before they starting to implement a sequencer update :-)

See I don't see it like that, they're telling you what you're knowing - even the email is more about what reason is rather than answering the question 'whats going on' Which I think was a polite 'I get your message but nah'
That "email" sounds pretty much like what ChatGPT or alike would tell you when asked "What is Reason (the audio software)?" I don't think it's an actual reply and DaveyG is just pulling a leg here. Especially given his introductory sentence of "Maybe they have all been abducted and replaced by AI bots."

Haha I should have known. It was quite elaborate, i mistook it for being genuinely passionate about their software :D

Easy mistake ;)

I just despair a bit, they miss a (non-comittall) roadmap deadline - chaos
they go quiet for a bit - chaos
They fix a bug, but not the bug you wanted fixing - chaos

Which would be somewhat fine if people actually liked the core software. But you don't get that impression. An air of 'Yes I could use Cubase, but you miss the point - why would I use Cubase when I can complain about Reason?)

Obviously there's going to be some space for critique. But it's very one sided.

It would be nice to hear some news about Reason 13.

My guess is that they will release some information about it on the week that Ableton 12 is available.

They might call it Reason 14 as 13 is an unlucky number!
Some people have triskaidekaphobia yes. 13, unlucky for some but not in my euro background anyway. Bring on a version 13! 🤘🏼 :D

I wondered along similar lines, like maybe calling the next one Reason '24, then trying to get into a habit of yearly updates.

13 is a Fibonacci number. They wouldn't miss that opportunity, it means a lot.

It’s also a prime number, fwiw.

It’s also a lucky number in some places such as Italy and India from what I recall. Don’t know about Sweden.

Every public move they make is criticized to death in some form or another. That would make me want to share information less frequently. I love Reason, and I am excited about any future updates (even if they don't benefit me directly), but I also understand potential reasons for silence on their part.

Some people are never happy with anything, and the only way they can make themselves feel better is by negating others.
As for me, I really care about Reason. I love, love, love the rack. Would like to see the sequencer getting a bit more care. Hope RS is doing well.

Right, like Microsoft did back in 95.

Or like Microsoft did with their second gaming console: instead of Xbox 2, they called it Xbox 360, probably to close the naming gap to the competitor's product, Sony PlayStation 3. So, Reason 360. Or Reason Studios Live 25 would be nice. So we have to wait another year.

Or like Nike did with their running shoes "Nike Air Max 720": Reason Studios Reason Typhoon Ultimate 720 (for subscribtion add "Platinum Plus"). 25 years in the making. For serious musicians only. Cancel your Xbox Game Pass subscription today and get serious!

"The concern described seems to be a specific type of anxiety, possibly relating to the fear of losing access to a valued service or product. While there isn't a specific clinical term for this exact situation, it could fall under broader categories of anxiety disorders. Anxiety disorders are characterized by excessive fear or anxiety about particular objects or situations, which can significantly impair day-to-day functioning.

In this case, the individual's preoccupation with the possibility of a favorite tool, software, or company going out of business might be akin to a form of situational anxiety. This can be similar to:"...

No matter what we should not worry. Unless the server is shut down and we lose access to all your music, all at once. The same could happen to Adobe, Ableton, etc.
Not for Reaper of course, but no one is using it :puf_wink:

Just got a REAL email from ReasonStudios mailing list with the tagline 'Curious to know what we were up to?'.

Just as I was getting excited thinking this was a new roadmap or something I open it up and it's a link to a blog post to their shenanigans in Amsterdam.

https://www.reasonstudios.com/blog/reas ... 0-%20Beyun

So I guess that explains the silence. They're on a well earned break getting high and partying

That was just the Marketing Team. No software company in their right mind would let their developers outside.

Great! They're hard at work on the marketing side doing P2P marketing with the professional and serious prosumer market which sounds like a good strategy on that front 👍

This whole thread is now obsolete, right?

This year, we have plans to attend Superbooth in Berlin in May
https://www.reasonstudios.com/blog/reas ... os-at-ade/

hmm ... the marketing team have plans to attend. What should I make of that?

Would be nice to know for sure. So maybe in May I can take a day off and meet some RS people at their booth to look at some new SEQ-features. *dreaming*
