The last R12 release is working pretty well for me, but there are still some unexplained high CPU situations happening here.
One of them is increased CPU usage when Reason is started for the first time after boot. Btw. I am using 120% zoom with 1920x1080 resolution, it should be prerendered/cached 100%. I am observing Windows task manager and Reason is constantly using 7-10% of CPU and it wont go down even after few minutes.
Now, the funny thing is, if i close and start Reason again, CPU usage falls down to normal and stays there (usually less than 1% CPU with my default template).
I also checked Reason+Companion - it doesn't have any influence on CPU usage.
Any similar experiences on your side? I am almost sure this is a bug, so i hope devs will read this post and pay some attention to this misbehaviour.
Cheers!

After i've further analyzed Reason's file and cpu activity, i found out that increased CPU is caused by background thread, which is scanning/indexing my locations. After scan was finished, CPU went back to normal. Scan time was pretty big and i've never actually allow Reason to finish it (i wasn't aware it's scanning so long) until now.
I am still experiencing occasional increased CPU usage because of (unexpected) scanning, let's see if things will calm down soon (i am not updating my locations, so Reason shouldn't scan them anymore).
EDIT: i can see Reason is now scanning my locations again ... this is definitively not OK, because i haven't change anything there.

Yep, I also realized it after I closed R12 on my Laptop. The fans are getting crazy stable for a long time so I always shut down the process in the task manager. So, I do understand that Reason is scanning my location when I am log in with the online account but I would NOT understand it, if this is also happening with a dongle or my offline license?
This needs some explanation !

Okay, obviously I did get your statement wrong ^^. I checked my laptop on privacy issues with R12Maxsu wrote: ↑02 Sep 2021Yep, I also realized it after I closed R12 on my Laptop. By scanning "location" i mean scanning locations (in browser's sidebar) for samples, patches etc.
