Auto high frequency boost for 250 bucks, no thanks! But that analytical EQ looks useful.

I think I will be upgrading. They've fixed much of the performance issues (and this is in addition to Reason's VST performance improvements in 10.3), and added the resizable GUI/UX that's been available in Ozone 8. Plus the additional features looks pretty bad ass, IMHO.eusti wrote: ↑06 Jun 2019https://www.izotope.com/en/products/mix ... ndard.html
What do you guys think?
D.
Short of the intelligent metering and mix assistants, I know I can accomplish 100% of this in Reason using the SSL and various RE/VST, but doing it in Neutron is so much funner (and sexier - goddamn it looks sweet IMHO)!
$149 USD for the upgrade. Can't recall if the upgrades go on sale around Black Friday, etc, though. I'd wait it out over the summer if I knew I could upgrade for $99 USD in November. Nectar 3 was 40% last November, but I seriously doubt they'd discount an upgrade to Neutron 3 that much - that soon. Insight 2 was on sale last November, but it was only 25% off.

I'll be waiting this one out. iZotope's upgrade paths have always been convoluted (not to mention expensive) so I need to factor that in.
I'm sitting at a decent vantage point with Music Production Suite 1. I think when Ozone 9 hits, I'll be a lot more likely to upgrade. I also think Trash 3 is sorely needed (if not just for the interface), so we'll see if they get around to that. If they get those into the bundle, fix their upgrading system (not holding my breath), and have a decent sale... the conditions will be right.
Honestly, I think iZotope is moving in the direction of a full DAW. The culmination of all their products native under one roof would be very appealing. Will be interesting to see if they go that route.

Getting Neutron 3 Advanced (as part of Music Production Suite 2.1) for $99 to upgrade from Post Production Suite 3, isn't too bad. But yes, that upgrade path is definitely confusing.
No it hasn't been.
$99 upgrade for me, from elements. I think i got that from a free or a super cheap Plugin Boutique sale.. ? Anyway, see that you download the demo at least because
you will get Relay and Visual Mixer for FREE, even after the N3 demo is over.
its pretty fun to mess around visually. I remember reading the Art of Mixing by David Gibson when it came out and and this is finally it... *we are now here*.

The panning of Relay (which can be controlled by Visual Mixer), seems to place sounds better left to right than the pan pot in the Reason mixer (even trying to narrow the width the right amount to match the panning). That alone is why even if I'm not using full Neutron channel strip, I stick a Relay on every track.

Well crap. My bad. I thought they introduced that in a point update, but apparently I'm thinking of Nectar 3. Derp!

I would love to upgrade, but as an owner of the Music Production Suite, $99 is a no go. I'm usually not one to talk about spending wise but that's not a fairly priced upgrade if you own the Music Production Suite.
Pay a-hundo just to upgrade one plugin in the entire suite. . . .

Nope. And that would be a weird choice of features to differentiate versions witheusti wrote: ↑06 Jun 2019Might have been the advanced version only.EnochLight wrote: ↑06 Jun 2019

I've got Advanced of both Ozone 8 and Neutron 2. But yeah, it's Nectar 3 that allows resizing of the UX.
Well, this is iZotope we're talking about here...

Yes, the Music Production Suite includes the advanced versions of Ozone and Neutron. If you have either version 2.0 of it, or the Post Production Suite 3, the upgrade to MPS2.1 is only $99.

Shit... I'd jump on that upgrade for $99 USD. I think it's totally worth it for that, IMHO.

Right. It makes sense. I have version 1 of the mps. A few weeks ago upgrading to version 2 was 199. Now the upgrade to 2.1 is 299.

Have any Reasoners jumped on this? I'm just wondering if side-chaining works properly now. Can anyone on Neutron 3 verify?

Great; thanks! All I know is that sidechaining in 2.0 is flat out broken in Reason. iZotope knows this, knew it then, and still did nothing to fix it.Popey wrote: ↑10 Jun 2019Hi enochlight i have the standard version of neutron 3 but wont be at home to test until weekend. I checked 3.0, and side chaining works. But then I thought, I had used it in 2.0 too, and double checked. It works there too.EnochLight wrote: ↑10 Jun 2019Great; thanks! Can you give more specific details about what's broken in 2.0, so I can test both versions?

Works here too on 3.EnochLight wrote: ↑10 Jun 2019Great; thanks! All I know is that sidechaining in 2.0 is flat out broken in Reason. iZotope knows this, knew it then, and still did nothing to fix it.
I remember it was broken in neutron 2 so I didn't try again, but apparently an update fixed that; either the 10.4 or one on iZotope's side. I just assumed it was still broken!

Are you guys side-chaining from within Neutron 3? The issue stemmed from version 1 and persisted in version 2. Honestly, I hadn't tried for quite some time now since I couldn't get it to work. Yes, the external source works. Tried it on the EQ plugin, not neutron main. I can test on neutron 2 main and plugin tomorrow to see if it got fixed like scuzzy eye said.EnochLight wrote: ↑10 Jun 2019PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑10 Jun 2019Works here too on 3.
