Important note regarding Parsec trials
Propellerhead have reset trials for all people that don't own Parsec v1 or v2. The issue with resetting trials for Parsec 1 owners is that it might ruin their Reason song documents (if they open and save a song while having a Parsec 2 trial). However, Propellerhead will permit owners of Pasec 1 and Parsec 2 to enter the song challenge.

THE RULES

• Judge's decision is final
• Only 3 winners with no cash alternative.
• Song challenge begins Tuesday, October 11, 2016
• Song challenge ends Thursday, November 10, 2016 @ 11:59 pm EST
• After the closing date, you are not allowed to change, alter or resubmit your entry. Any re-submissions or alterations will result in disqualification
• All entrants, when requested, must be prepared to provide evidence that the rules have been adhered to. This includes providing a copy of the Reason song file to verify that only the Parsec Spectral Synthesizer was used for synth sounds.

What you may use in your song (with copyright permission):

• Parsec Spectral Synthesizer Re for all synth sounds
• Any Reason native and rack extension Effects and Utilities, including R9 "Players" (no external plug-ins or hardware)
• Any Factory Sound Bank drums and/or samples, but not drums and/or samples from external plug-ins.
• Any recorded instruments and vocals (excluding external synths)
• Any vocal samples
• Any collaboration for any of the above

What you may not use in your song:

• No synth that is not Parsec Spectral Synthesizer (including Combinators featuring Parsec Spectral Synthesizer that include any other synth)
• No external plug-ins or hardware
• No instrument samples (you can use drums samples and samples of Parsec Spectral Synthesizer)
• No programs outside of Reason that generate synth sounds
• No copyrighted material
• No cover songs

THE SUBMISSION
All participants must post their song in this thread and we will update the OP to include each entry. This confirms your song was accepted.

THE JUDGES

The judging will be based off the following criteria:

• Showcasing of Parsec Spectral Synthesizer
• Arrangement and songwriting
• Originality and creativity
• Mixing and engineering

THE PRIZES
1st place: All Propellerhead Rack Extensions (There currently 13 Propellerhead Rack Extensions valued at $/€ 1,216)
2nd place: Parsec 2, PX7 and Synchronous (These 3 Propellerhead Rack Extensions are valued at $/€ 267)
3rd place: Any one RE from Propellerhead

Under the rules it doesn't specify V2. Does this mean users can still use V1 for the competition? Even though that would place them at a slight disadvantage...

Well, thx PH for providing this challenge. Maybe you could promote this challenge a bit by linking this thread to Parsec 2 or even more... This could be very interesting for new Reason users or not existing Reason users...

Cool, nice to see Propellehead onboard with the Song Challenges as well.

I guess I'll skip this one since I'm a Parsec 1 owner and still on Reason 7. Sounds like too much hassle with trial thing for me.

Oh well, there's two other Challenges going on so that'll keep me busy for some time anyway.

So you can't use instrument samples from other vst's, but how about some ambient stuff from, lets say, freesound.org like paper sounds?

Do we have to use a SoundCloud account that is using outlets Reasontalk Name? Because I don't really feel like making a new account and I know that was one of the rules in the past.

No, you do not need to use SoundCloud, but the song must be playable from the forum when you post here.

Here my entry. all these challenges are the best thing

Question: are contestants allowed to use drum samples that aren't from the Factory Sound Bank (e.g. from refills)? The wording of the rules seems to imply "no," but I believe the answer was "yes" in previous contests--so just clarifying!

I own Parsec 1, and as a result of PH's method of managing this RE upgrade kind of feel outgunned in this challenge by those of us who get to test Parsec 2 from scratch. IMHO it would have been cool if they designated Parsec 2 as a totally different RE. As in, one could own #1 and trial #2 and they could exist separately for the purpose of both this challenge and for existing owners to have the opportunity to try out all the new features before buying it. Even having #1 be significantly discounted in the face of #2 could have been a cool opportunity for people to go ahead and purchase #1 and then pay the $40 upgrade fee to level up to #2 if they chose.

Anyways, I'm by no means bitterly complaining just throwing my two cents out there for consideration in case it's read. I'll be definitely participating in this challenge even with the Parsec 1 handicap (lol) in hopes of winning #2, but ultimately I'll probably end up getting #2 either way. Good luck to everyone participating!

Here is mine. A trap beat with house kick and a bit dreamy. I must say, i like the sound of Parsec, it realy fits.
