Algoritm : new FM synth from RS
To allow us a break one forum user showed its RE account with an RS unreleased RE called « Algorithm ». Do you think it’s the new FM synth or as someone’s suggested a new player ?
I go for the FM synth ! But I’m biased

Well, we know that they have the PX7 replacement in Beta and that screenie shows the RE expiring in about a month, with is a very Beta thing to do, so I'd also go for the synth. As for the name - maybe the synth has a rhythmic element included.
Or maybe it is something else. Part of the 50 new secret REs they are about to launch to tempt us towards the subscription!

First of all, the name of the synth according to the screenshot is "Algoritm", which is the Swedish word for "Algorithm".
("Algorhythm" was used for Beat Map, not for this one)
It must be the FM synth. In the Yamaha DX/TX synth terminology, every supported FM Operator configuration is called an Algorithm.

I would have bet a Player, because you can do so much weird stuff with algorithms and notes, just like the Delta MIDI Computer.
But if think about it and they were talking about an FM synth in the livestream, i am not sure anymore and its pretty hard to beat the Delta-MIDI-Monster...

Not just in the live stream, Mattias also mentioned it in the blog:Loque wrote: ↑29 Jan 2021I would have bet a Player, because you can do so much weird stuff with algorithms and notes, just like the Delta MIDI Computer.

You’re right, I’ve changed the thread titlebuddard wrote: ↑29 Jan 2021First of all, the name of the synth according to the screenshot is "Algoritm", which is the Swedish word for "Algorithm".

Thank you for the hint, I didn’t see it. So likely a new FM synth ! We’ll miss PX7 way less… can’t wait to see the UI ! Assuming the sound is Yamaha-FMishbuddard wrote: ↑29 Jan 2021Not just in the live stream, Mattias also mentioned it in the blog:Loque wrote: ↑29 Jan 2021I would have bet a Player, because you can do so much weird stuff with algorithms and notes, just like the Delta MIDI Computer.

ugh, thank you so much for fixing the spelling. every time since that screenshot was posted the other day, I’ve had to cringe thanks to my OCD.
Time the screenshot as best as I could

Get more Combinators at the deeplink website
The FM synth included with FL Studio (Sytrus) is an absolute beast capable of so many of the big dubstep sounds by Excision and Skrillex and most big name dubstep producers. I do have high hopes for this.
I followed SeamlessR on Youtube who made tutorials re-creating well known dubstep basses and he used Sytrus all the time, the mathematics worked differently to Blamsoft's Zero (who was awesome in helping me with conversions) but it was always difficult to follow those tuts in Reason (Sytrus was never sold separately). I hope this changes that.

So why are you posting in this thread?
It's not the same team that works on REs and the DAW. It's not either or, or so we're told.
I couldn't care less for a new Combinator. What now?
I'll get the new synth. I've basically come to understand my usage of Reason as a sound library and linear sequencer. I don't see why not use this alongside any other synths.
