Is there a tuner rack extension for Reason?
I was wondering just out of curiosity if there is a rack extension device that allows us to tune samples? I don't really need it since i have vst's i can do this with but i was just wondering. Examples... Ableton tuner, G-tuner, Guitar rig...
Reason 10.4 | 2.2.4 | Ableton Live Suite 10.1| MPC Software 1.9.6 | Photoshop CC 2019 | Novation Impulse 49 | Nektar Impact LX 49
Grain shows the tune, i think NNXT does it too and in the sequencer you can see the tune (but its a bit fiddly). I think Proton shows the tune of a loaded sample, but i am not sure. Bounce audio->midi can also show you the tune. I do not know other RE and i do not know any realtime tuner RE.
If you are open to VST, you can try GTune. It is free, simple and works pretty well: https://www.gvst.co.uk/gtune.htm

Reason12, Win10
oh Grain does? I didn't know that. I'm gonna load it up and see. Yea, i know GTune does. That's one of the examples i wrote. I called it G-Tuner lol. I have all the examples. I know i can use the sequencer as well. I just want it to show the key of the sample. Thanks for the feedback manLoque wrote: ↑19 Jun 2018Grain shows the tune, i think NNXT does it too and in the sequencer you can see the tune (but its a bit fiddly). Perhaps you could send it through an audio channel, not sure though.

route the output to the input of an audio track and you can use the tuner on that channel. super easy.

I'm surprised someone hasn't made a tuner RE.
Exactly. Maybe Selig can come up with something. He's the one always making what i need.

Don't understand why we need a tuner when we already have a tuner in Reason.
I personally use The Snail VST.
I got it when it was like $19 or something - look it up at http://www.ircamlab.com/products/p2242-The-Snail/
OK - it's a VST not RE... but that shouldn't make a jot of difference as it works well.
The other thing... it is insanely precise. If you don't want to pay... Computer Music magazine give away on their front-cover disc a tuner called Photosounder Spiral CM - which does a similar job to The Snail... but with a lot less features.
Maybe you are locking your sights down to RE only.... and there I can't help you.

^^^^ This exactly - however, yeah I spose there could be one if You can't spare a second
Let me tell you why than you can respond if you want. I don't play guitar. I stated this early. It seems like a majority of people on this forum play guitar. I was asking a simple question. The tuner would allow me to tune 808s and other samples if needed. It would also show you the key of the sample. As i stated earlier i don't need a re for this. I have vsts that do this for me already. There are things that reason just doesn't have that they should have. Now, if i can do this with the tuner built into reason, please provide a example. I don't want to see the tuner youtube video that's been available for years. Hope this explains it bro.Marco Raaphorst wrote: ↑20 Jun 2018Don't understand why we need a tuner when we already have a tuner in Reason.

I have G-Tune, Battery, Guitar Rig, they work fine. I was just talking about a re device. It was simply a question. That's all. I don't play guitar and that's what everyone is thinking i'm asking for. I know we have a tuner in reason. It's been there a while now.danc wrote: ↑20 Jun 2018I personally use The Snail VST.

Simply select Rec Source on the device you want to tune and you can use that Source as input for an audio track and use the tuner.mreese80 wrote: ↑20 Jun 2018Let me tell you why than you can respond if you want. So you're saying I can tune an 808 sample this way? Could you post a video of you doing this?

Does the pitch editor or Neptune work?
Neptune has a low freq mode I think as well.
I would have thought the tuner would work as people would need to tune bass guitars as well.
5 string basses go down to about 30hz which is lower than most 808s.
Nnxt has pitch detector as well.
I would think these should have you covered.
Kick drums with short durations can be tricky as it might die before a normal tuner can detect anything. I usually transpose up to hear the pitch and tune it back down once I know key.
Yea i know. Some times samples need some adjusting.jlgrimes wrote: ↑21 Jun 2018Does the pitch editor or Neptune work?
