Export a single pattern as midi?

If it's a MIDI file you're after you can find the Export MIDI File entry in the File menu, if you only want to have the yellow clip then you should mute the other clips. You also need to set the range of what it will classify for inclusion, and this is set by the End marker.
Lastly if you want the notes on seperate tracks in the output then you need to go in and create the new tracks. The best way to do this is to select the notes you wish to send elsewhere and then right-clicking, and selecting "Move Selected Notes To New Lane". A really useful trick with the individual tracks of a Redrum is to double-click on the individual track names inside the clip, and this will automatically select all the notes for the clip that are in that note lane.

Seligs method is the best way to get the cleanest midi out of Reason, the export midi function creates a multi track midi file so it's best to export the midi from a new project file,
simply copy your pattern into a new project with the correct tempo and length to export only what you want.
Midi drag n drop / selection for export would be a handy browser feature but is missing.
Those are pattern lanes (something unique to Reason). You have to bounce to Midi first, if you want to export those.
For the Matrix see http://docs.propellerheads.se/reasonsui ... .65.2.html under "Converting Pattern data to notes in the main sequencer". Other pattern devices should also have their respective section in the manual.
So for Redrum: http://docs.propellerheads.se/reasonsui ... .28.5.html with the same section header.

Hi,
here's again for a related question.
Is there a way to trigger a Redrum Pattern from MIDI (i.e. Pattern 1-A)?
I'm using Reason Rack Plugin, with Redrum loaded on it.
I want to trigger the Pattern 1-A via MIDI note, not when I play the DAW, so disabling "Enable Pattern Section", which start when I press Play:
How can I do it?
Thanks

What do you mean with "Selected Pattern" MIDI CC?
Program change? Or which CC?
But this would be to select pattern, what about play it?

You own FL Studio which has a way better step sequencer why are you working hard trying to do this Redrum patterns?

I select it with "Selected Pattern", make it run with "Pattern Enable". That's how they are referred to in the automation target dropdown menu in Cakewalk. Those are just MIDI CC numbers, of course, "Selected Pattern" = MIDI CC 3, "Pattern Enable" = MIDI CC 92.
Ok, I think I've got it simply using the "Drag midi notes" to FL Piano Roll feature.
Anyway, it got me some time to discover why they sound differents (pattern vs piano roll).
And its why I discover a Redrum "bug" (at least, on the VST version): if you loop a pattern within the internal Redrum sequencer, the first step (when loop) will play random velocity every time...

This has been helpful, thanks!
So basically these pattern lanes are specific to Reason and can't be imported directly into other DAW's, such as Ableton Live. Without too much effort, I was able to export a Dr.OctoRex track as a MIDI file in the REX format, and import it into Live. From there I was able to play it within Live using Reason as a plug-in through Dr.OctoRex.
But it seemed easier and closer to the original track to just bounce the Dr.OctoRex track within Reason to an audio file, and then import it into Live.
