You don’t need that new plugin.

It’s that time of year again. Every plugin manufacturer has begun an onslaught of percentage points, BOGO, upgrades, and more. But do we really need all this stuff? The new products are great, but couldn’t you get by with what you already have? More importantly, do you really want to part with all of your hard-earned cash?

Ever since VST support came to Reason, users have been clamoring to pick up all the plugins that they were previously unable to use. The floodgates opened as a whole new market of musicmakers got access to the likes of FabFilter, iZotope, Klanghelm, and all the rest.

Further, Propellerhead has made certain that we also keep our eyes glued to the Prop Shop. New Rack Extensions are always hitting the shop, and a barrage of deals and discounts hit our email inboxes at a near impossible rate. Not to mention the loyalty programs and subscription options.

As Reason users, though, we often forget that Reason has one of the most robust sets of stock modules included in any DAW.
